11 days post op and weird bump under incision - help

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am 11 days post op and just noticed last night there is a hard bump under one of my larger incisions. There is no bump under the larger incision on the left side, just the right side. On Thursday night when I was getting into bed, I had a sharp pain in this same spot. It is about the same length as the incision and not very wide.

My dr's appointment is Tuesday morning and I will definitely have him look at this.

Has anyone had anything similar? Should I be worried? :help:

Thanks for any help...

Sounds like it's your port. I have a big bump where my port is and after surgery the sharp pains I had were like muscle spasms. It's just the muscle getting used to the port being there. I still have a bump but no pain at all. Don't be worried.

I had my band removed last Tuesday and I have a bumpy feeling spot under one of my incisions. It is scar tissue. NOthing to worry about. Ask your doctor though. It should put your mind at ease.

It also may be scar tissue. I had a Tummy Tuck and had that hardness under the incsision. You have to massage the scar out.

Hey babygotback.Thankyou for your posts. I am getting my surgery by Dr.Ortiz on 01/29/07 and I am very nervous. I just wanted to ask you if your are still happy with Dr. Ortiz? Also if you cangive me any advice befroe I go.

yes it is your port, as you loose my weight it will stick out more. I am four months post op and it feels like a tumor sticking out of my tummy, it should be at your largest scar, it will build up scar tissue and be harder. Dont need to worry and do not push on it. When you get your first fill that is excally where your doctor will go to do it. It is round but mine feels a little square. also your doctor porbally made a pocket on the inside of your skin to keep the port in, so that is probally what your feeling too. you do need to watch to make sure your incisions are not leaking Fluid or oozing, or you have a fever that is an infection so really watch that. Good luck

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
