Its been 1yr since my surgery so I don't know how much I should be having at this point

Try this link: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/tools/bmr-calculator

It will tell you what your Basil Metabolic Rate (BMR) is and you can figure out how many calories you need daily to lose weight.

Most folks end up close to 2000 calories a day after they hit goal. This also assumes some exercise.

Tonight I tried an ice cream replacement called arctic zero. Its made with whey Protein. It wasn't creamy but its easy on the taste buds. I got Peanut Butter chocolate and might actually add a little peanut butter.

Well I have always been a chocoholic before the sleeve but after I still find myself searching the cupboards in the middle of the night for that chocolate rush can anyone help me with any suggestions for stopping the cravings thanx

I was never a big candy eater prior to surgery, but I find myself really enjoying my choc Calcium chews. The brand is Bariatric Advantage.....they're like little Tootsie Rolls! I take four per day.

Not at all. In fact, they help with maintaining or losing weight by feeding the muscles.

I tried the Arctic Zero and I think it's very good. I set it out on the counter to thaw a bit first. I had the chocolate mint.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
