September sleevers

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved 9/16. Starting weight 264, surg date 241, day I left the hospital 249 (yes, 8 lbs of IV fluids), I lost 22 lbs in the first two weeks (227) and have been stalled for the last 3.5 weeks. So frustrated. Exercising, eating low carb high Protein. Keep thinking "I did this for 20 lbs?" Nutritionist wants me on metformin for insulin resistance (I'm not diabetic) and said to try GTF Chromium. Anyone else use GTF Chromium?

I haven't taken the Chromium but I was on Metformin for the past 3 years to help me lose weight - I am not a diabetic either, but weight loss effects are an off-label usage for that drug. It worked for the first 2 years, then seemed to stop working for me, which was fine since I planned surgery anyway.

I had a sharp pain in my back, and told the dr. He sent me for a cr scan it showed an absess that required drain, and then xrays showed the leak.

let me clarify that is not 35lbs in a month. 35lbs in 1 month for me would be way more than I am expected to lose in a month since my total weight loss needed is 87lbs. My doctor expects me to lose 10lbs in October, November and December then 5lbs each month thereafter until I get under 130. But let me post my weights with dates:

August 1st start of program HW 207

September 23 surgery weight 189

CW 172

When anyone loses 30lbs in a month it is huge. I am just happy with each pound I lose. I can't compare myself to others.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
