Has anyone had 2 c-sections before being sleaved?

Recommended Posts

I have and the sleeve surgery was by far the easiest as far as surgery pain goes. But I had gas and nausea with the sleeve.

I agree with ejpjsmommy.

I had two sections (2005 & 2007)

I had the Sleeve done last Wednesday ( 9.11.13) and I was home within 23 hours. Torodol and PCA Morphine worked great!

After 2 c-sections, gall bladder removal and getting my tubes tied I'm not even worried about the actual pain after surgery. Just leaks. I have this huge fear of having a leak. I have an awesome surgeon whom I trust, but that fear is so vividly present.

I've had two c-sections and getting sleeved was much easier (so far.) I'm only three days out but the pain is way easier to manage then after a c-section.

I've had 2 c-sections - last one was 7 years ago so my memory may be fuzzy:) But as far as I can remember the pain was about the same, maybe a little less than the c-section pain. The morphine while in the hospital and the loretab at home took care of it. The eating and staying hydrated were more of an issue for me than pain.

I had two c sections. Last one was with my twins. My c section recovery was by far easier than the sleeve recovery.

I had two c-sections, one was 15 years ago and one was 10 years ago. In my situation I think the sleeve recovery was slightly more uncomfortable because I was a lot younger when I had the c-sections. But neither surgery was unbearable.

I had 2 c-sections and a vertical complete hysterectomy. Everyone's pain threshold is different. My hysterectomy was the worst thing I have ever had to date. I kept thinking the sleeve would be similar, but it wasn't at all. It was the easiest of all of the surgeries I have had.

I had 2 c-sections and I have a high pain tolerance. The sleeve was 1000% worse.

Oh no! I've had 2 c-sections and a hysterectomy and was counting on a this being a walk in the park. I'll find out soon enough - surgery at 7:30 tomorrow morning

I have had 2 c sections and a hysterectomy.....also had lapband and lapband removed.....my recovery from the sleeve was a piece of cake compared to any of them

I've had three c-sections, gallbladder removed, lapband surgery and sleeve.

From a surgical pain point of view, the sleeve was wayyyy easier than the c-sections, gallbladder removal and lapband. Truly, I had virtually no surgical pain from the sleeve surgery, and they took out my lapband at the same time.

From a stress perspective, the prospect of a leak (I tend to be a very anxious person) scared me so much. That, coupled with the big life change from the sleeve, made the recovery difficult. Not painful, but difficult. Keeping track of liquids, Vitamins, planning meals so carefully... it's a job the first several weeks.

Good luck, you will rock it!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
