Sleeved two days ago. I am home, doing very well and sipping and walking and sipping and walking...

I feel blessed as all things considered, things are going very well.

No pain except when gas rears its ugly head. I do have an abdominal binder on and that really helps with comfort.

So good to hear you're doing well! How long were you in the hospital? My surgery date is Nov. 25th and i'm wondering if I'd be able to, (or want to) see my family for thanksgiving

I'm having surgery on Nov. 27. Just found out today. Now I'm in a panic to get everything done before surgery. I know this sounds kind of silly but I love to decorate for Christmas. I understand that I will be very sore when I come home so I'm thinking of doing it before I go into the hospital. Anybody else think about this or am I just making more work for myself?

Hello-

I had a late surgery so I was in the hospital for two days. I am home walking and resting.

I would have no problem with visitors now. As for thanksgiving, I learned that we all heal differently and there were a few folks sleeved the same day and they were not moving as well as I.

It will really be a day-to-day call for you.

I know if you feel like I do, thanksgiving visitors will be welcome! That said, we are all different.

Best of luck to you!

I'm seriously thinking about putting the Christmas tree and hanging the stockings sometime Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday (my surgery is Thursday the 21st). I was GOING to keep with tradition and help put it up on Thanksgiving, but now that I see how weak some others are one week post op, and there only being 3 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year because of how late Thanksgiving is, I'm thinking I will put it up BEFORE surgery. Plus it will hopefully put me in a festive mood when I get home and the warm holiday feelings may help with healing!!

I am almost 2 weeks out and since about 5 days out Ive been fine. I went back to work this last monday and was ok. I know everyone is different. I know before i had my surgery I thought I would be so weak and not be able to so anything for myself, but everything worked out fine. Good luck on everything!

I have never chatted like this before so hopefully I am doing it right. Haha.

Anyway I'm going to put my tree up next weekend I've never put it up that early but I want to make sure everythings done before my surgery in case I have complications which I won't. Day 1 of liquid diet and no coffee complete.

Very excited but scary. Hopefully I don't starve.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
