Anyone Please! Have any of you financed?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I would really like to know if any one on these boards have gotten financed totally for their LBS by one of the Mexican finance companies? Not by CC or refinancing their homes, etc. I need an uplift to my stressing about it. I am waiting to hear back from Citerra Financial(Geramin) on getting financed for surgery with Dr. Ortiz with a co-signer. My credit is horrible, but my co-signer's is good, so I hope they take into consideration the income. I emailed Lori from Dr. Ortiz office and she said if anyone can get you financed then Geramin can, but then she said most of the time. Not very comforting...ya know?

I am so ready for this surgery and have learned so much about Dr. Ortiz and Lap banding. I just want to be good to go! :rose:

Thanks to all who reply,

Judy

I have not, and no one comes to mind. Sorry. :rose: But that doesn't mean it hasn't happened. Have you called them and asked about the status of your application?

I had surgery with Dr. Arturo Rodriguez in Monterrey, MX and I financed it. I made my application with MediCredit and was accepted. My credit score was decent, but it is hard to prove my income because I am self employed as a Realtor, and they were willing to accept my commission check stubs in place of paychecks or tax records. I received my approval in less than 24hrs. I liked medicredit because it was 1 year same as cash, or 12% interest if I paid over 3 years.

Here's the link to their site: www.medicredit.com

Judy...have you heard anything yet? My credit like yours sucks and am trying to find somewhere to try that might accept me. Does anyone know if there are any of the Drs that will finance it themselves and let you pay them with some money down and then making payments to them?

Nope...Sorry Teresa, I haven't gotten anywhere with financing. I tried with MedProva and got denied even with my Mom having decent credit, but she is retired and widowed, so with her social security and pension, she doesn't make enough.

I wrote a nice long letter to my Uncle who has quite a bit of money stored away and so on and I was called last night and he is totally against this surgery because of my past and present health problems. He thinks that I would fail Healthwise even more with the lap band. Ugh! Not sure what to do next.

Will keep you posted.

Peace,

Judy

Hi, Al

Thanks for your info, If I want to have surgery with another doctor, you gave a name Dr. Ariel Ortiz, so you work for a doctor or for MedChoice, do I have to go with someone else if I want another surgeon, I was thinking someone in Monterrey, cause I have been there.

Thanks

I got a medical loan through Capital One. I chose them because I already had a Capital One card and had a history with them. I was approved in less than 10 minutes, but my credit is pretty good.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
