Band to sleeve tomorrow!

Recommended Posts

Well after almost 5 long years of having the band not do a thing but cause problems for me,

Reflux, gaging, weight gain (lost 116, gained 40) and feeling like crap, I am set for tomorrow to have band removed, and sleeved. YAY!

Have lost 9 lbs in the past 6 days from the preop diet.

Not too bad. Have not been hungry, which is a good thing. The shakes help a lot.

So wish me luck, and I will see you on the flip side.

Montie

Good luck! I'm almost 8 weeks post my revision surgery. Although the recovery (for me) was brutal, I'm so, so, so happy with the sleeve! It's so much better! Best decision ever--you'll love it! :)

I had my band taken out on 9/12/13 with sleeve revision. This recovery is much easier than my band. Maybe because I stayed overnight this time and they had me on pain and nausea meds IV. But a big thing I'm happy about is no more lump in my chest or food feeling stuck (I guess I should say liquids cuz Im not on food yet).

I am 8 days PO revision. Feel great, came back to work on Monday, only 5.5 hrs.

Very tired when I got home. Actually took a nice baby nap. Now that I can do the Protein shakes, I don't feel so tired. Tomorrow, I get the staples out. Will be asking lots of questions.

Still a bit swollen on the left side, which is where they did the most work.

I am IiI am dong great! No pain, just still some lingering gas. I finally went to the potty today.........lots of gas was present. Working 5-6 hours a day. Now on the full liquids, creamed Soups, shakes, and feel more energy. I come home from work and take a little nap. We are going to our lake house this weekend, its a 2 hr drive, so should be ok. I go tomorrow for my staple removal. I think that will help, as they are pulling on everything. I had 7 incisions. all look good, some redness, but nothing to write home about. I have lost 14lbs in 2 weeks, so happy about that.

I got a question. I had a lapband and when I was stressed it would tighten up. My lapband was removed in April and I still get that. Does sleeve do that too?

I was the same with my band. I have not had this with my sleeve.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
