August sleevers progress

I'm guessing most of that flax carb is Fiber though right? It's the banana that's killing it, but without the banana, no one would want to drink it! Oh these dilemmas :)

LOL YES! That's why I would not recommend dropping the banana! I get next to zero Fiber in the rest of the day, so that's how I justify the flax even though it adds no taste whatsoever (at least to me it doesn't).

Quick question GG, do you track your protein/fat/carb ratios at all? I'm trying to find the right ratio for me but haven't been able to correlation in my stats. I think my fat is too high (got into the habit of adding shredded cheese I ground beef and sometimes shredded chicken and need to knock that off)? Just curious :)

Mkak... How's the carbs on that shake? I'm game to try but I'm a carb freak lately :)

My software is saying 29.7, so it's pretty carb heavy. You can shave off 10 by omitting the PB2 and ground flax though.

I wanna try it but I'll have to play with my day and see what I can do:)

You know, I do track it. In my case I was insulin resistant, and have hypothyroid . For people with insulin resistance/carb addiction, and hypothyroid, the recommendation is 40% Protein, 40% fat, and 20% carbs. That equals to about 70 gms or Protein and less than 50 of carbs. The few days I ate more carbs, I was hungrier so I seem to do better on these ratios.

I don't think low carb is necessary for everyone, but if you were a carb addict or insulin resistant, it's not a bad ratio to follow.

Carb crazy right here, so I definitely fall under this category. I usually stay within about 5-8% of those from day-to-day. I don't know why I'm so caught up with this fat %! It's good to know that 35-40% is OK. Thanks GG!

Hey August folks! I haven't been posting much because I can't get with this new format and wading through RnY-village or Lapband-ville. I'm a low and slow loser but glad to be losing all the same.

Hello~

I started the whole process a year ago .

My first consult I was 240 - 12/2012

Started pre op diet 7/23/13 @ 237

Day of surgery 8/6/13 @ 222

As of today 12/18 @ 164

I did have a couple of weeks of low blood pressure 90/58, then dropped to 80's. my orthostatic bp was all over the place & really low. Told me to hydrate more. They thought originally could be vertigo but just ended up low bp. Was/ am worried I am loosing too fast :/ trying to slow things down a little. Labs look good so I am just plugging away.

Anyone gave blood pressure issues after surgery?

Hey guys haven't posted in a while. Surgery date 8/27

HW 372, Surgery weight 347 CW 263. It has been a great journey so far. I had my bloodwork done in November and I got a call from the NUT saying that I needed to up my Iron, Vitamin A and Protein (since it was low in my blood) it was hard to start eating a bit more, but only upped my calories from about 650 to 750 so it wasn't bad. I was in a 3 week stall and super tired all the time, as soon as I made the changes I started losing again. This whole this is crazy!

I hadn't checked in for some time.

Surgery 8/28/13. Pre-op 229...DOS 221... Today 184. I'm 5'0. My goal is 140's. I'll need radical surgery to get lower than that or change my breed to a Shar Pei

I'm out of a size 24 and into a 16-18. I've stopped buying pants and now just wear skirts to work as they're easier to alter and I can get more than 4 weeks wear out of them before they look like clown clothes. I've been thru the closet once and once winter is over all of those clothes will be going.

Zumba and yoga are on my to do list for 2014 and I'm looking at getting a hybrid bicycle....time to kick up the walking routine too... I don't know of my knees could mange a C25K...but it's work a try.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
