Recommended Posts

After 2 years of waiting and prepping....I finally get my date of surgery! I was confident, I was prepared....until the moment I got the call from the surgeons office! Now I feel nauseous...nervous...dont want to eat...I just want to cry! To make matters worse, anger is now kicking in...im angry at myself for having to result to this! Cmon now....I worked so hard to get here and now I want to call it quits!? I dont know whats wrong with me....wth!? Not sure if im just nervous....but this feeling sucks! This is what I have been waiting for, and now not so sure! Has anyone been through this? If so...how did you cope with it?

I could've wrote this! I don't know how I'm coping, not well really. I have anxiety normally so this is putting it off the charts. I'm scheduled for 10/3 and I'm freaking out. But the more I read here the better I feel. Lots of people have great outcomes and I want that for me too. We will do ok, I figure as long as the pain meds keep my pain manageable and keep my nausea under control I'll be ok. I'm not quite as worried about the eating part after. I just want to survive the surgery. When is your date?

I felt all of those emotions too when I got the call. I had to do some serious soul searching and my husband helped me reason things out. I know that this is what is best for me. I am very good at losing weight, but I'm not good at keeping it off. This surgery is going to give me my life back. I can't wait for the 12th to get here. I hope you are able to work through your emotions and come to peace with whatever decision you make.

I'm wishing you the best of luck!! I've felt all those things and I'm VERY early in the process, so I can only imagine how it is with the surgery right around the corner. Do what's best for you, it's your life! Sending you hugs!!

I'm right there! I'm going September 17th - 3 days away! I am absolutely freaking out! I am SCARED to death! I'm so nervous! I keep thinking I'm going to die, or not lose weight, or I'll have serious complications and what will my little boy without me?! It's horrendous! I just keep trying to think that if I don't do it, I'm really not going to have very long with my son.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
