I was sleeved on the 14. I was down 20 pounds after 12 days but haven't weighed since. I see the surgeon tomorrow. I came home with a drain but they took it out after 7 days. No big deal. I went back to work after 4 days but I do find I need an afternoon nap occasionally. I'm on phase 3 of my dr's plan which is soft food. I struggle to get in my 70 grams of Protein. I feel like I'm constantly shoving food down my throat to get the protein in!! It's hard! But I suspect that once I start eating solids, it will be easier. At least, I'm seriously hoping. Anyway, I haven't had any issues. I feel better than I did before surgery, plenty of energy, no more grouchy than usual, lol. Already down one size. :) hope it's always this good!!!!!

HEY! Another 27th-er. I was in the ICU for 4 days after surgery, released yesterday. I've been drinking as much as I can. Diet Snapple, LowCal Gatorade, Water and beef broth. Jello right now is kind of iffy because it kkinda hurts after a while but it goes away. The only pain I have is from my largest incision and the area surrounding it. Other than that, i'm feeling fab. Just hope I don't get dehydrate, 2oz an hour is killing me.

I couldn't drink Water for like the first 5 days after surgery but apple juice (diluted with water) went down so much better. I'm still not drinking as much as I'd like to but it really gets better each day. My nutritionist had me start soft foods yesterday, struggling a lot with that. I can only have a bite or two but she said that in the first couple weeks don't worry about what you're consuming and to go at your body's pace.

I was sleeved on 8/28' date=' and feel great!!! Down 24 pounds!! 12 of that pre-op liquid diet.

I hate crushing my meds, and I want a bite of something crunchy!!

:) Amanda :)[/quote']

Try crushed iced with a little Crystal Light on it for flavor and eat with a plastic spoon for small bites. I buy the good crushed ice from a local convenience store. It sure satisfies my need for crunching!

Sleeved on 8/21. Spent 4 days in the ICU. Had 4 blood transfusions due to some bleeding out during surgery. Had to go the ER on the 30th due to chest pains and shortness of breath. Now I'm home and having trouble getting into a comfortable position to sleep and still trying to get hydrated. Any suggestions/advice?.....on sleeping and drinking bcuz Water is becoming so boring. And does anyone know how to keep the taste of dehydration out of your mouth whilst sleeping.

Miika

Thank goodness you are okay and home.

I have to sleep half laying down half sitting with pillows under my legs and around my sides. Like a cocoon ????

I brush my tongue with no burn listerine before bed. It helps.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
