I was going to ride today and the carrier had a flat tire so by the time it was fixed' date=' it started to get dark. I did do two rides in yesterday and am up to 82.8.

However the big news is I GOT VERBAL APPROVAL TODAY FROM THE INSURANCE CO. Now all I need is the written letter, then figure out when is the best time to leave work for a while. Butter and Laura, I told you both that when I got approved, I would be shouting it in the forum and everyone would know.

I will get my miles in the before the month end and hope to pass 100.[/quote']

Congratulations. That's great news.

You are bad to the bone.....very impressed with all your miles....especially for a self professed non-exerciser.

82.5 miles. Work and life and trying to get in the way this week, but I'm going to hit 100.

I did a lot of walking today...3.14 miles. I just finished riding the recumbent bike 4.45 miles which put me at 7.59 miles today and a total of....101 miles!! I can't believe I did it and with days to spare!!! My wife took a pic right after I broke 100 miles...lol! I just need to figure out how to post it.

Come on everyone...we are in the home stretch!! If I can do it' date=' you can do it. Before my surgery last month, if you told me I would do this I would have laughed at you. Now, exactly 5 weeks to the day post op, I have finished the 100 mile challenge and don't plan on stopping!! Thanks for the motivation everyone![/quote']

Ok, that pushed me over the edge; I've been lurking and thinking "I'm not up to this yet" but if you did it 5 weeks post op, I can't really come up with a valid excuse at 4 months!!

I'll be joining the October challenge (Yikes!!)

Hee hee. I told you my "life verse" from the Bible is "bodily exercise profitteth little!" (YES, I know it's taken out of context but it's MY context! lol).

Okay, *just* added up everything and I did it!!!!

Today's total is:

(drumroll)

104.87 miles

Woo hoo! They are mostly from spin class but some are from running and some are from walking (oh and I did add in some from just an exercise bike when I was waiting for my fusion class to start, I killed 10 mins on the exercise bike right outside the door, figured I could stand around and "chat" or I could move my legs. :) )

Definitely a good feeling of accomplishment. I'm going to still keep track and see where I end up by the end of Sept. Thanks all for the support and thanks Butter for getting us started and keeping us encouraged.

Nice job everyone. I'm so proud of all of y'all. Thanks to everybody that jumped on board and is giving it a go. You're all winners. Everyone is doing great and the miles are adding up fast.

Day 26 for me....4.9 miles. 117.5 total.

5 more days for me...likely one of those will be a rest day so....I'm winding down. Someone else will have to start a new thread next month as I doubt I'll be able to. But hopefully by November I'll be able to put up some walking miles.

It won't be the same without you... should we call it " October 100 mile challenge"?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
