October Sleevers - Who else

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on 10/28 and am down 12.2 from post op. losing about a pound a day. Woke up today without much pain. Luckily have been able to sleep in my bed since I got home. Have been able to get by with mostly Tylenol. Am able to take in fluids and do some walking. Am looking forward to things getting even better.

Hi my October Sleevers, I was sleeved on October 30th, I have to say it was not an easy transition, I was sooooooooo nauseaous, and was vomiting blood for the first day, I was given so many nausea medicines that I had a reaction to them, I left the hospital last night and was feeling great, but I can't seem to get any fluids into me I am using a small medicine cup and each swallow brings a full feeling in my new sleeve. Has anybody noticed that getting in the liquids is very hard. I would rather not put anything in my mouth for fear of pain and fullness.

I was sleeved the 31st and immediately upon going home the same day I was able to drink all my liquids and Protein Shakes. Haven't vomited or felt nauseous yet. Sorry to hear that you are having so much trouble, maybe your stomach is just more swollen than mine is and you just need a bit more time to heal? I can drink so much it makes me wonder if my doc just poked five holes in me and called it a day.

I was sleeved on October 18th and was nauseous and dry heaving in th beginning. It will get better, I'm still afraid to put yo much in my sleeve to quickly. I would rather have a good healing around my suture line. It is getting better and as much as I would love flavor drinks my stomach prefers Water. :( I've had trouble getting my fluids in to. The fear of a leak keeps me in a good place. I will contine to work hard on getting my fluids in. God Bless and I know you will get better as time goes on.

I was sleeved on 27th Oct and have now lost 15lbs. Unbelieveable. I have a very low threshold of pain and so am surprised at that it is no where nearly as bad as i anticipated. Only thing i keep getting a foamy mouth (2x per day), a furry white tongue and a breath scent that could kill from a mile away!

I can't seem to drink as much as i should but not fretting on it just trying to push forward.

I need to walk more as i am using the fact that i 'have had a major operation' and equating that to being stuck to the sofa all day - old habits, eh?!

Just thought i would share and update you all.

PS. Would do this again 10x over.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
