Dr. C. will determine the size of band you will have after he's in (you). It is determined by the stomach size or something like that. There is no difference on how they will preform. But now I have heard that Dr. C. is using a newer version too, so I can't comment on that one.

Hi Hugi they dont decide til they are "in there" (but not like cloes hubby!) it depends on the size of your actual stomach and how much fat is around it.

I was surprised too Doriana....I was never told to wait that long to do any ab work (ie. situps, crunches etc). I was told 6 weeks and then just go with it depending on how you feel. I was WELL into it by the 3rd month!

I wouldn't worry.

Thanks Yoda...

I was starting to get worried, but I'm sure it's okay... Dr. Joffee's office said it was totally fine to work out and to go ahead with the Pilates class..

How are you doing Yoda?

Where do you live?

I'm in Woodbridge, Ontario...

Have a great night.

No Doriana, I don't utilize MSN.

Yes, winter has finally hit us, I think.....leaving in a few mins for work ...a lil' earlier than usual so that I can brave the elements!

Hi Yoda,

Take care and be careful driving to work... It's very slippery out there.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
