Thinkgs are moving along so fast all of a sudden.

Recommended Posts

Today I had my pulmonary doc visit. He was very candid and told me right off the bat I would definitely get clearance for the surgery, not to worry. I kind of had the feeling I was moving through a conveyor belt. I am scheduled for the sleep apnea test in 2 wks. I have to have a chest X-ray, blood work and another breathing test the day before. The. The following week I will have the endoscopy. Sometime between now and then I need to have an upper GI series. Never had one, not even sure which doc sends me for that, but I will find out. I am also halfway through my 3 month supv weight loss...

Things are suddenly happening so fast wi all the required procedures lumped up in the same week. I am suddenly filled with a little apprehension. I have always had this feeling I may die a tragic death, and now am wondering if this will be it. Will I croak on the table...who will tell my son and more importantly, WHO is going to carry me off the operating table.

I know its crazy thinking, but I cant help it. I suddenly am starting to feel a bit of anxiety.

I think I need a hot fudge sundae.

Try keeping in mind the reasons you are having the surgery. I had a one day panic about a week before my surgery, but kept reminding myself about my looming health problems from being overweight. In the end, I once again realized there was no option and then I lost my fear.

It does seem to speed up. I had 6 months and the first few months just kind of happened and store I knew it I was rushing to finish up my last couple appts. Than it was time to submit and than the wait began..... It took FOREVER to get through those few weeks. Now I'm 13 days pre op. time is flying once again

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
