Recommended Posts

:clap2: well my surgery is finally booked for Feb 15, 2007. I'm scared to death about what happens after the surgery; where do i find the willpower to get through the pre and post surgery and how do i deal with the hunger.

any suggestions, please :huggie:

You'll be able to deal with the hunger after surgery because you won't want to each much for the first week. Does your dr. require you to be on a preop diet? Mine didn't but many people here have and they can help you. Don't be scared, you'll be fine. Keep us posted.

Yeah -

It's the Pre-Op diet that is the most difficult and then it gets hard again about a week after surgery - unless you are lucky enough to have restriction right off the table.

Once you start eating normal food, and getting fills - it all gets a lot easier.

Don't be afraid. It's going to be just fine.

We all survived - and believe me when I tell you - I am NO paragon of self control. If I did it, you can too.

Hugs!!

The hard part was the pre op diet. Post op i have been fine. It has been alittle over two weeks and I am still not really hungry. If you can get through the pre op then you can make it post op. (based on my limited experience being post op)

Congrats. I think you will find that your hunger will be diminished. It is typical in the healing phase. That is the beauty of the band. It wouldn't surprise the least if this is what you experience. Good luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
