No change in weight for 15 days at 3 months out

Recommended Posts

Hi. I'm 3 months out (sleeved 5/8) and down 50 lbs since 4/24 (start of 2 wk preop diet) went from 275 to 225. But my weight hasn't changed for last 15 days. It bounces up or down a pound or two daily but basically averages at 225. Am I done losing??? I can't be, right? I know stalls happen, just scared maybe I'm only gonna lose 50 lbs with the sleeve. I hope not! Is this a common time for a stall (3 months out).

Thanks for your input!

I haven't gotten to 3 months yet but I have read on this board (over & over & over) that the dreaded 3 month stall is very common. All I can say is what I've read to switch up your diet a little. Eat a bit more calories, drink a bit more Water (remember, the more water you drink, the more your body shrinks!) & not sure what else, but you can do a search on it. There are lots of seasoned Sleevers here who give great advice! Just don't get discouraged...it's part of the journey! Good luck to you!!

It can be normal. I went through a stall that lasted over 7 weeks. I didn't sweat it nd just told myself it's going to work.. And it did

Stalls happen for all sorts of reasons and at any time in the process. I personally stalled in weeks 3 - 5 but have been on a slow but steady weight loss since then. There are some great threads in this forum explaining stalls and what to do to jump start weight loss again. Check them out and see if any of the changes described might help you too.

I'm 5 months out, and I've had 4 separate stalls that lasted 2 weeks each. I'm still down 83 lbs in 5 months, even with the stalls. Don't sweat it, it's just your body adjusting.

Stalled at 2.5 months, just ended at 3.5 months... It happens, hang in there, as Ms AntiBand says, don't sweat it, stick to the Protein, Water and exercise and the scales will shift. Keep an eye on your inches too cos even if the scale stays still, your body is likely to be changing shape. Good luck....

It happened to me too. Then after the month long stall I lost maybe a pound a week for another month. At about 4 months or little longer the weight just started dropping. I didn't do anything different. I just started losing pounds. I'm just over 5 months now and losing a couple pounds a week on a good week and a pound or so the rest of the time. Don't let it frustrate you. It's just part of the deal for some and undoubtedly you will lose more. I guess that happens when your body gets good and ready to let it go:)

Glad I'm not the only one...12 weeks out and stalled the past 3 weeks. Trying to be patient, but convinced this is the end of my weight loss, lol

Yep, 2 months out and I've been stalling a while. I know a part of it is lack of exercise. Just hang in there!

I'm at 4 months and I'm stalled too. But I have faith that I'm not done yet. I've started changing things up by exercising and making sure I get my Protein in first. This shall pass. Keep at it!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
