I was cleared to exercise a week after surgery. I did so with religiously. 30 min cardio and 30-40 min weight training per workout. My summer job is in construction. So now i am back to work the last 10 days and have not been at the gym do to time and energy. However I am physically working 10 -12 hrs a day and have actually lost more weight than before. Does the physical work count ( maybe not for cardio) ? I go back to my other job (teacher) in September so I will resume gym for sure then. Here are my stats and thanks in advance for input.

Sleeve date 7-1-13

SW 300

Surgery day 282

Current 249.

Yes of course your physical work counts as exercise.....You already have a plan for September so you really have it figured out well...

I hope you are going easy on yourself....It takes at least 3 months for the sleeve to heal and longer for the incisions...Make sure you are well hydrated K, get some G2 if you are not already drinking it....

Congrats on your loss so far....Please remember that it is not just the scale that counts success but how you feel and the improvements in your health and life in general!!! :)

Not only do i wear a heart rate monitor on the treadmill at the gym, i wear one when i'm mowing the lawn, string trimming, and edging - it better count!

(Seriously, I'm burning around 1000 calories doing yard work. I count it!)

According to my fitbit, my regular daily activity counts as activity as well so I'm sure all of your hard work during your job has to count because your job is far more physical than mine! I love the idea of wearing a heart rate monitor while getting yard work done, I may have to try it this weekend!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
