Lol yes sooo true!! I was lucky and got my last drain out at 14 days. But I never had much output to begin with. But trying on cloths was pretty funny when you thing about it:) even better was the looks I got in the airport when I went threw the scanner and they saw a tube and ball.... Almost got a full body cavity search... That was until they saw the drain coming out of me and the not so pleasant liquid in it. Lol. They decided against the search and got my wheel chair ASAP.

Oh to address the Mexico comment.... I wouldn't have had my surgery any where else!! The experience is great!!

The hospitals are clean!! (Popular belief is that they are dirty and you will get sick) HOWEVER let me assure you this..... When you are paying for your medical procedures with a great dr' date=' then you are going to get clean, hygienic and sterile environments. This is my second surgery in Mexico in the past year and a half (first was my sleeve). And let me say this.... I have had ALOT of surgeries the past few years at home in Canada.,,,, and after each one (even small incisions) I have gotten really bad infections to the point of needing Iv antibiotics...... BUT down here in MEXICO, I have NOT had an infection with my sleeve or now with my plastics!!! And I will attest that with my surgeries the rooms were clean, equipment was clean, staff was great and knew what they were doing. (And they really do care about your health).

Follow up by both the doctors down here has superseded the care back home, you are a person down here, ( not a number or a pay check).

You are unsafe areas as well. I have walked down to the closest mall by myself a number of times, people are friendly, hotel is clean and safe.

Not to mention above all of the extra medical care, hotel stay and the lack of "waiting lists", it is more than affordable. At least 1/2 the cost or less than back home. Plus you get more for your .[/quote']

Hi can you tell us how much you paid for the lot and was it all done at the same time?

I am also curious on how much it cost for everything and do they take care credit or cash only ... I just hit my one year mark and have some surgery I want done that pretty close to what you got done but its over ten grand just for a Tummy Tuck here, so Mexico might be my solution.

I haven't had surgery with Dr.S yet but I have consulted with him and he quoted me $13,700, for arm lift, breast lift w/o implants, and lower body lift with short thigh lift, I thought that price was awesome since the Dr I consulted in Dallas is 10k for arms and breast only.

As each person may require different procedures depending on what their body needs for PS. My cost was $13,700. Again that included a lower body lift, small inner thigh lift, breast lift and augmentation, 12 days hotel, hospital stay (all medications, OR room and staff, anesthetic...ect.) $600 towards my flights, transportation from airport, to hotel, to dr, to hotel and to the airport. The hotel also had Breakfast included and some evening snack/meals. It also included all post op medications, gauze, ointments and two sets of compression garments. The dr and nurse came to the hotel everyday as well which is a part of the package.

What was not included... lunch and some evening meals (however being sleeved and having the Tt with abdominal tightening didn't leave me with much of an apatite anyway .... And I just grabbed an extra muffin at Breakfast to do my lunch and had brought Protein drinks with me). Tips and gratuities are seperate as well.

I had all of my procedures done at once. As Dr S uses twilight sedation with a spinal you can have longer surgeries with less complications after.

I pd with both cash (money order) and credit card. I to decided Mexico was the place to go as the cost here would have been closer to $30,000 for just the procedures I wanted (and no real follow up or lodging, meds or anything else) I researched for a good 8 months before I decided to commit to going to Mexico. But again the care, the after care, the follow up, the cost and positive reviews of Dr S are what made me decide to go. I would do it over and over again.

Yes the cost is much better, the care is great and you get alot more for your $. He does an amazing job and is a perfectionist. It's well worth the $13,700 that he is charging!!!

I was supposed to fly into Mexico on the 24th, and fly out on the 5th. (However had some flight issues where I didn't get in until late on the 25th). It is 12 days for the quote that I was given.... But trying to find flights that went from and to my little town ...in bc Canada... Was a bit of a juggle so my time was shorter.

In saying that there was another lady who prolonged her stay down there so that is also possible.

It is much more affordable to go down to Mexico and get all the procedures you need done. I know I am very happy with my decision.

Thanks. So did you guys communicate via e-mail or video chat? Would you think same if you went alone? I likely could have a person with me for several days but not 12 :(

Can you provide his full name and facility? Super interested. I plan on having procedure in January or February. 10lbs to goal weight.

So glad you are happy...feels nice !!

All of us were there alone but connected with each other through his network. We created a great support network for each other. Even of there was no one to connect with, I would go again alone.

I did go alone, and my own fears were unfounded. Lol. There are other people having surgeries within the time you are there. It is easy to spot in the mornings going down for breakfast.... The ones that are slow, stiff, bandaged or carrying drains. Lol. Everyone is so friendly. So connecting is so nice. I would have no fears of going alone again. You are safe and well taken care of. Monterrey is not the stereotypical part of Mexico you often think of. The area you are in is clean, upper class type area. Large houses, large hotels (bigger than my little town and cleaner. Lol), new cars, streets are clean. ... I have been to a few different places in Mexico over the past few years and I def felt the most at ease, safe and really surprised at how modern the area was.

I had connected with the dr via email.

The dr is Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey Mexico you can google him as I don't have the info on me right now. (I believe it's the Medical Tourism site he uses) I researched him for a good 8 months and was very happy with his reviews, the amazing work he does and of course now my results. His wife is the anesthesiologist and is very sweet. Dr S responds to all the emails and so you are getting his professional opinion right away. No middle man makes it way easier and faster to communicate directly with him.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
