I was happy I decided to attend the 1st meeting of the

Look forward to building a great on-going support system.

Hey guys,

Glad everyone had a great time at the first Denton dinner!! Wish I could've been there, but will certainly be there next month, unless I'm called out of state again. My dad is on hospice due to cancer, so I may have to travel again at some point. I actually left the hospital where my nephew is to come up and see my parents. I will return to the hospital today or tomorrow. My nephew is improving, but he is still "waking up" and doesn't really know what has happened. He will be in intensive speech therapy, physical therapy (which I do), and occupational therapy to help him recover. Thanks again for everyone who is praying for Brian.

Hey Mary,

Very happy to hear your nephew is doing better. Our continued prayers are with you and your family. Are you going to be staying there for an extended time?

Richard, thank you very much for the bandster picture. Maybe you could post it on our thread here?

Again, to everyone at the meeting the other night. Was great to meet you.

Hello Ladies,

I'm actually the "Leader" of a lapband support group called "Live Band*Aid" and we meet the third monday of each month at a church in Carrollton. I also host a monthly dinner usually in the Lewisville area.

If your interested in more information about this group please let me know.

Hi Persistance, I don't know about any meetings in the El Paso area. Perhaps post a general post in the Texas forum?

Our group would certainly welcome any bandster or potential lapp-bander who is interested. I say the more the merrier.

I think Mary planned this one because she, I and others were interested in a meeting for the Denton area. I know I am happy about because I don't care to drive in toward Dallas but was very interested in all the benefits of a support group.

Is this something that is just for women? Because there are men in this forum, too.

Now, wait a minute. I don't think I'll welcome anyone from Green Bay. Well, maybe if they promise not to wear a Packers shirt or start talking about Brett Favre...and none of those stupid little cheese-head hats!

Hey everyone!! So glad to see the pic. Richard, can you email it to my account if you saved my email address? I would surely appreciate it!! Maybe you could identify who is who, also.

I'm supposed to be flying home Wednesday, but I will see what happens. I can change my ticket with no extra charge due to the nature of my visit. Of course, my hubby and 4 teenagers miss me (at least I hope they do...a little...lol) and I know my 2 dogs do (for sure...lol), so I won't stay too long. I saw my dad who is 3 hours north of where my nephew is and he is declining day by day due to cancer. My nephew had a rough weekend, as far as he wasn't as alert, sleeping a lot, but today showed that he is understanding more and physically able to do more, too. They will be evaluating him for a rehab hospital tomorrow where he will hopefully go and get lots of physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.

Take care everyone and will "stop in" again soon!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
