Enjoy the delicious sense of awkwardness and nerves! It's the best part! Just be assured that she's going to be just as nervous as you, my dear. Go get 'em! :)

Going from the awkward guy in the back to center of attention is so hard

Hard, but exciting. Jump right in, because when you're much older, you'll be looking back on these times with a sense of wonderment and a dirty big grin on your face! Enjoy! :)

Try to enjoy it. You deserve it.

I know how you feel. I promised myself I would start dating when I broke the 200 pound marker. Down from 270. Well, I did that today. Now what? I feel like a 47 year old woman trying to find a prom date. Wth.

I agree with the others, though. Jump on into the dating pool. That's what I'm going to do...very soon.

Confidence is very attractive! Fake it 'til you make it!

I have just been reading the biography of Cary Grant, the actor who is considered one of the most desirable men who ever lived. His real name was Archie Leach and he had considerable trouble with depression and lack of confidence. You most certainly would never know it by his actions on the big screen.

Playing a part is not necessarily being fake. Actors pull most of their parts out of something inside themselves. They, in a sense, activate a side to their personality that in normal life they would not act out.

I have been a public speaker many years. In the beginning I emulated the style of a very confident speaker that I was acquainted with. I took a role as him when I spoke. It worked for me. I added my essence and made it my own. I found out later that this speaker was quite lacking in confidence as well. He overcame his fear by acting brave.

Be yourself but realize that what you are could be much more than what you have allowed yourself to be in the past.

I totally understand. The process is so foreign to me. Now I have been told that not only do I have a "f*** off" sign on my forehead but I suffer from resting b*tch face. Awesome. And where I live there are no guys. Not single, sane, drug free and gainfully employed. Wth?!

As for those girls that want you as you are now, wait for the one that doesn't give a fig for your past but stays focused on being part of your future. What is for you, will NEVER pass you by.

Confidence is very attractive! Fake it 'til you make it!

This is the single most important piece of advice that anyone could ever give about a relationship.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
