Ejs sorry for the delay. I received my date prior to insurance approval. I should have all my requirements met by 1 Sept. I have Blue Cross Blue Sheld Federal and the Dr has dealt with them often so they are used to working through the process and obtaining it rather quickly.

Yep. My neighbor has BCBS Federal and it was a snap. I have NJ BCBS Horizon Direct Access and the doctor told me it's one of the fastest approval wise too. I actually was already approved months ago, but ran into a health situation, so had to postpone it all. Insurance company said as long as surgery is done this year, and the doctor resubmits updated paperwork and there are no drastic changes (there aren't), the approval will still stand and I don't have to go through the process all over again. So after my last appointment with NUT on 10/1, he's looking to schedule me very quickly.

I definitely will be looking for you! Too bad we couldn't be there together, it would be nice to have a buddy. Good luck![/quote']

I know! I'm glad Raven will be there so we can tell everyone about our experience. I know you will probably be tired but if you're able to, post how it went after. I'm hoping I'll be able to. I read they have wifi. Good luck to you.

Try out unjury. Love it! They have a sampler pack. Good luck!

I ordered some Unjury and synthrax sampler packs, the large chicken Soup and unflavored unjury tubs (figured these were safe buys), and I went to GNC today and bought all the flavors of the single Isopure Protein drinks to taste. They are on sale right now. I also got some different flavored muscle milks, core power Protein Drinks and EAS myoplex drinks. Wow! Lots to taste test over the next few weeks!! Better than wasting money on cases/tubs of things I don't like. I plan on freezing small amounts too or maybe making Popsicles out of them and see if that works. Just some ideas I had!

Melissa1234 - I am on Ability and Pristiq but my Pristiq is not crushable so I have to go on something else for a couple of weeks which scares the crap out of me. Thanks to all of you for keeping me grounded and realizing that this really is the best decision I have ever made - just can't wait for the actual surgery!

I take Pristiq also & really do not want to switch... Do we have to?!? Why can't we swallow pills? It's not that big!

I am planning on October but I'm starting to freak out a bit. Been researching nonstop and thinking and thinking and waaaay over-thinking and I'm driving myself crazy! Has anyone else gone through this? I've got a bad case of the "what if's?"

I feel ya I am researching things all the time. My brother had the surgery a year ago and said he wishes he did it 10 years ago. He's never felt better so I hang onto that. My surgery is October 8TH. IN some ways I wish it was tomorrow so I could get this going Lol.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
