I was sleeved July 8th so 15 days post op .. I've already lost 30lbs which I am happy about . I was so happy to get to mushy foods on the Monday that past but now that I'm there , I can't tolerate anything I feel like such **** after anything I try to eat , on top of that I get like cramps all the time , if I'm sitting for too long I get cramps in my sides and I have to like lay down or walk for a bit , I go to school for hair and I can't do anything cause I wind up getting bad cramps in my shoulders after doing one thing . Ever since this surgery I don't even feel like myself , I feel empty , apathetic and just sad . I ask myself why I had this done a lot .. Even though I'm losing weight it's not outweighing all the bad that's coming from it , I've always been positive and happy and now I just cry over everything . I just wanna get back to normal .

Get into therapy as soon as you can. The issues we have with food does not go away with the restriction. You have to battle that first and understand what you have done is for your health and your life has changed and you need to learn to adjust. You can do this but need help.

Hang in there it will get better. Your body is still healing and you are weak from not eating/drinking like you used to. Sometimes it takes awhile to get back to yourself. I am 10 weeks post revision and had a rough first month with nausea and eating/drinking. Now I feel pretty much like my old self. Don't push yourself to hard and just think in a few months you'll be looking at the new sexier you and thinking "thank god i did this"

I was also exhausted, emotional, and depressed at two weeks out. It took another two weeks to feel human again. Make sure you are getting your Vitamins and Water and lots of sleep. I hope you feel better soon!

I am so sorry you are feeling this way, it happened to most of us after the surgery. First I really think you need to keep your fluids going in, they may help with the cramps because you may be dehydrated. As for eating make sure you are taking very small bites and chew until there is nothing else to chew. I woul only take maybe 3 bites and wait a little while before trying again. If you are eating eggs or milk products becareful because after this surgery alot of people become lactose intolerant, I did and still have trouble with eggs. And if all else fails call your surgeon and maybe they can help. Again as for the cramps drink Powerade or gatorade to keep hydrated your potasium could be low. Good luck and keep us posted.

agree, the cramps could be from dehydration--get in 64 oz of Water minimum...more is better!

I cried the whole first week!!! "Why did I do this"? It was pretty awful!! It really makes you realize what a grip food has on you!! I was 4 weeks post op yesterday and started solid foods!! Please believe when we tell you it WILL get better!! I feel great now! Going to start working out again tomorrow!! Are you having reflux issues? I felt so sick every time I took a bite or sip, but once they switched my meds to protonix I felt 100% better! BTW I am a Nail Tech! I went back to work after 2 weeks! Cried the whole way home my first day which was 11 hours, didn't do pedis the first week back, but now I am back full swing!! It will get better! Let me know if you ever need to chat!

Don't be sad love, you will be back to your usual self In no time. You did this fits a reason and that's to be healthy. I was sleeve on 6/24 and i was a lil down but I said it's too late just get on with your life. I feel great now i go for my nightly walks when it gets cool and i have 6 kids that live with me from ages 23, 19, 16, 14, 9, 8 trust me i feel like quitting sometimes but I'm too good of a person and mother to do so. So you do what you have to do to get through school and get that weight off. You can do it.

Another thing is the fast weight loss releases a ton of hormones into your system. You will feel better soon. In the meantime, get in your fluids and Protein and walk. It helps.

Have you talked to your doctor about this? Maybe talking to a therapist? Anti-depressants?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
