Anyone else think their stomach is swollen from the surgery? Mine still feels puffy & weird.

Yes ESP on left side. Still hurts too!

I was bloated for a week. Very very puffy. But I suppose between the gas and the beating up we got in surgery it doesn't surprise me.

I'm looking forward to next week where I can eat a few more things like scrambled eggs, white fish and lentils. I need to chew something.

Does anyone else weigh them selves everyday? I think I'm doing my head in and need to restrict myself to one or twice a week . Any advice? Thoughts? I'm getting a bit cross with myself because my weight hasn't shifted in to days and thin start thinking well maybe he didn't do it right? But then I go to eator drink and there definitely sent much space in there. I think I'm making myself crazy.

Felt my first restriction yesterday. We were traveling home and had some very thick broccoli and cheese Soup at Jason's Deli. I had several bites then a slight wave of nausea hit. I stopped immediately, and after that I started to feel like I had eaten a three course meal! Amazing! I haven't had any physical hunger since surgery, but hadn't felt any restriction on liquids either.

Yay! I'm a pureed girl too today LOL Are you concerned about the mozzerella cheese? (I don't see why it would be a problem, but cheese isn't on my list of fodds)

Breakfast was a scrambled egg.....couldn't get it all down, nor could I get the applesauce in......Over the weekend I made chicken marbella, froze it in individual serving sizes.....and kept a little bit out to puree today, yum.

How much have you guys lost? I'm down 13 lbs since surgery. Thought it would be more (20?).

I can fit a lot more in than most without feeling restriction & it is really bumming me out. Last night I ate 2 SF pudding cups no problem... Felt like I could have eaten another. :(

I've also had 1.5 mozzarella cheese sticks plus 1/4 cup tuna salad with no problem. I'm a monster!!!!

I've been on pureed foods for a week. It's getting old. I'm running out of ideas. Cottage cheese, meatballs, an egg and cheese sticks. I don't have a scale in my house and I go for my postop tomorrow. I have no idea how much I lost but I don't feel like I look any different. Getting nervous.

SugarPop.....I'm probably down 12 pounds---haven't weighed myself today.....thought it'd be more, but I'm not worried about it.....we all lose at our own pace.

Today was my first pureed food day.....and having a really tough time getting in even 1 ounce at a meal.....any one else?

I'm down 12 pounds since surgery. I lost 14 pre-op in 3 weeks (one week low carb and 2 weeks liquids). The Baked Ricotta was great. I doubled the recipe so my family could eat it as a side. I cooked some Aldi turkey meatballs and puréed the Ricotta Bake with a few meatballs. It was really good. I am eating about 1/4 cup of purée before I get an "I'm full" hiccup. I wanted to eat more, but it just wasn't going to happen. As for other purée ideas, you can purée just about anything as long as there is some moisture. I puréed leftover round steak baked with low fat cream of mushroom Soup, onion soup mix, can of carrots and jar of mushrooms. It worked out fine.

I've stalled out at exactly 215.0 pounds. scale is not even wavering 2/10 of a pound...for some weird reason I find this amusing instead of annoying.

I'm finally on soft foods and at a small piece of white fish tonight. It went down so well and it felt good eating something. I've needed to chew slowly but it sits well.

I had a little soft ricotta on the side but fight need it.

So far from from the start of preop to yesterday (one month) I'm down 20lbs. I'm so pleased but have stalled a little. It has started to come off again but I'm avoiding my scale.

I also did my measurements and that's impressive. They are coming right down and that's. exciting.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
