Bridesmaid dress question

Recommended Posts

Lol! I got lucky! We just had to order one of tr Sabine the knee black satin dresses in the line of dressed. I like the dress, but I am afraid because none of them had sleeves Nd I am way self conscious! I may need a shawl or something! I never show my arms unless I have to in a swimsuit!!!!!

It's great that you like the dress, it doesn't always work out that way. I think we've all been there. :)

About your arms, ya know, you may be surprised, I never wear sleeveless. Ever. Now, I look down at my arms and they are starting to appear dare I say, normal? Huh? Did I just say that? :D From the perspective of just looking at them in something sleeveless, they look normal now. Of course I lift them and the batwings are there but I'm starting not to care because the rest is starting to look normal.

I guess that can be a NSV??

I think it is a pretty dress and could be really flattering on your shrinking figure! Way prettier than some dresses that I've had to wear in weddings!

I am in the same boat!!! I'm a bridesmaid in a wedding set for November 23. I was sleeved June 19th. I'm down 31 lbs. and dress sizes from a 20 to a 16 now. I have to order 12 weeks in advance. I have no clue what to order!!! I am thinking a 12 to be safe. That's 4 months. Maybe a 14. I going to go try on dresses July 27 and find a size that's tight and order the next size down. So stressful! I don't want to mess up her wedding or stress her out. My moms a seamstress so that helps!!

You are lucky that your mom is a seamstress! I have a friend who can sew/alter anything. I am going to get her to help me!

I ordered my size the day I went. Wedding is in November so I know it will have to be altered. The lady said it can be altered 5 sizes! I hope she's right!!

Hope you tried it on for the lady who said order the bigger size!

Now the guess is how much will it need to be cut down? I going place my bet that you will be a 10 by the wedding!

Congrats! You are doing great! :)

Too funny! Sadly I didn't! But I did send a pic of me all zipped to two friends (including the bride) who doubted my size choice ;).

I can't even imagine a size 10! I was in like 8th grade when I was last that size! Will let you know. I would be thrilled!

I'm going to be in a similar boat. I'm being sleeved on September 3rd and am getting married in February which means I'm going to have to order a dress in the late fall and have NO idea how I'm going to know what size to get! Talk about adding even more stress to the next few months, lol! Any ideas on what to do?

I was sleeved 7/1 and getting married 9/1. I got my seamstress on board before surgery and she's doing most of the alterations last minute. I tried it on on Friday and she's got to take in 3 inches already.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
