Yes I agree! During the first 3 days I was calling on Jesus! The Pope! Mother Theresa and Mick Jagger!!!! I wanted relieve quickly. I underestimated this surgery! Never thought the pain would be so great!!!!today is day 6 and besides the sore incisions I'm doing great! Just can't get down 64 oz of down. I kno too much tmi but my urine is strong!

I'm doing better today. Thank God! I plan on going for a walk with my dogs tomorrow. I hope it will help eliminate the remainder of the gas. I'm doing my best to try and burp every time I take a drink to help alleviate extra gas pains. So far today I haven't felt nauseous. Thank God!!!

I'm 3 weeks out and it feels like I pulled a muscle in my lower left abdomen. I'm not feeling nausea, dizziness, fever or anything other than the twinge when I move a certain way or sneeze. Anyone else experience this?

I am in my 4th week and this sounds exactly what I have experienced. This twinge/cramp in my lower left abdomen has me stumped and I have not been able to link it with food consumption, drinking copious amounts of Water, or position. It is a mystery; but, not a problem considering I have experienced NO vomiting, nausea, or associated surgical pain.

I had that happen too over the week end and I think it was due to lifting something too heavy like my three year old grandson. I felt like I pulled an abdominal muscle.

This started a couple of days ago. Like I said, no other symptoms except that twinge of pain from time to time. I wish I had an answer. I don't think its a leak since there are no other symptoms.

Hi guys,

I am two weeks post, and I am hardly losing anything. ...like 4 lbs???

Kinda frustrated, anyone else experience this? I am hoping it's just my body adjusting to the shock of losing my

gallbladder and part of my stomach.....

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
