Well this week I'm doing the EDF, EveryDayFasting, and not 'cause I want to! The Dr gave me some meds and I thought I was good to go, so I ate about 1/4c boiled potato. Thees vas a very LARGE meestake *Puss n boots accent*. So, it's back to Water and Protein Shake. the shakes give me just as much agony as regular food, but otherwise I'm taking in zero calories and putting out all my electrolytes etc. :(

This so sucks! I hope you find out what's going on really soon.......

I'm doing really good here. My weight is in my bounce range now and I feel pretty good too. Tomorrow is my fast day too.... Happy Tuesday everyone! :P

M2G - It's Giardia :/ Today is an eating day for you' date=' right? I bet tomorrow morning you will have a loss.

I ate a tbsp of Peanut Butter today and was rewarded with agony an hour later. Giardia laughs in the face of pepto or Imodium v_v.[/quote']

Yikes, Globe! I've never heard of it. So I googled it. Oh , lord! Been there. Done that. Wound up in the ER once. Make sure you are trying to stay hydrated. Feel bad for you. Hopefully, you can kick this thing in the butt (pun intended) very soon!

So' date=' fasted yesterday. Went a little over but logging 570 is fine. I'm always reluctant to trust my weight until I've seen it for a few days but it appears that I'm finally down that one pound I've been bouncing up and down with - I keep rocking between 141-142 and now appear to be solidly 141 pounds, which is nice. It's the top end of my maintenance window, so it's all bonus from here. I'm still going to hang with the 5:2 program, of course, but since it took a while to get back here I don't expect anything to happen quickly.

Went to the doctor yesterday, and entirely frustrating undertaking if you've ever received care in a military hospital. After much insistence I was able to get some blood work done so we'll see what comes of that re: Vitamin levels, my thyroid and the hair loss.

No relief on the endometriosis front - something that's causing me daily pain now. The typical go-to answer in military hospitals is to take some Motrin and Water. I pretty much got that response. Here's another scrip for birth control, have a nice day. But after an hour waiting for blood draws at the lab and then another hour at the pharmacy just to put in my scrip I left when they told me it'd be another hour to get my birth control. Which I don't really want to take, anyway. So I left and once my labs come back and the doctor puts in whatever supplements I'm going to need I'll go pick it all up at once. I wish I had more control over my health care, like the option to change practices or something. I can change, don't get me wrong, but you're just changing to more of the same.

In any case, my last house guest leaves tomorrow, hurrah! I'm absolutely ready for my house and routine to be back to normal. My twins start school in a few weeks so I want to enjoy their last bit of time where they're home all day with me.

Other than that, things are going okay. I'm a little grumpy but that's due to many days of overcast gloom in a row plus a baby that hasn't slept well the last two nights. You know that stage where they need their pacifier to sleep but aren't quite coordinated enough to stuff it back in when it falls out? Yeah, we're there. She's lucky she's so cute or we'd trade her in on a self-sufficient cat. ;)

Take care gals, hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

Yay,Cheri! 141! I truly want to be in the140s now. I am at 155 and really happy since I've lost most all regain using 5:2. 150 is real goal but 145-150 would be a lovely, lovely range for me. So gonna keep plugging away.

Did fast yesterday since coming off vacay and going to do another back to back today just to stay on my regular schedule of tues thurs fasting and because I want to ensure that I get off every ounce of vacation food! Lol.

It's days like today I wish that I were at least 5'5" or even better - 5'7" tall or something! If I were, I'd be damn skinny right now. :P

But alas, I'm 5'1" and got the lecture by my doc yesterday that I should consider that I'm in the risk range with my weight. I put her right back in her place (hey, next time bother to read my file or at least look at that nifty paper they made me fill out before my appointment that says I had WLS) but it just reminded me of why I had surgery in the first place.

Even after plastics, let's assume I'd lose what, seven or eight pounds? Am I doomed to get the "you're not skinny enough" talk from my doctors for the rest of my life?

Bah. Piss on 'em. I'm about as skinny as I'll ever be. I might shed a few pounds and I will definitely have plastics some day but that "ideal weight range" of 105-120 pounds my doc vomited at me yesterday is not going to happen.

Globe, hope the meds kick in soon, giardia sucks!

And hang in there, Laura! I was there not too long ago and it made me a wee bit loony. If I'd had PMS yesterday, I might have smacked my doctor. Instead I gave her a condescending glare before pointedly putting her straight. Then I brushed off her oohs, aahs and "You've done so wells" as if they meant nothing to me. Which they didn't, 'cause why would the opinion of someone that can't read a file before judging a person matter to me?

Still have company, but I'm home at last. I am at work during the day, so at least I can control what I eat until around 4 pm. I am on my own after the 17th. I decided to fast today until 4, so hopefully that will help a bit. I weighed in at 3 pounds up, I guess not that bad after all the days of snacking on junk (and some good choices too...) Lots of hikes over the weekend. Here is a pic of me(left) and two girl pals getting ready for the movie premiere and after party last week.

Okay, only one pound left from vacay and day two fast day plus just did an uphill 2 mile climb and burned 345 calories so I've got on my "game face" today! :)

Back to work tomorrow. Sigh.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
