Ok i am 3 weeks post OP and am so frustrated...i lost about 16 lbs the first 2 weeks and for the last few days i was stalled ABCs this morning i was even up a couple lbs!!! I am still on liquids for a week and then puree for 2 weeks...a couple contributing factors could be lack of Protein or lack of water...very hard for me to get those in...anything else that could be causing this? Any one have suggestions to jump start my weight loss again? I am kind of freaking out...why am i torturing myself for no weight loss??!

I know how frustrating this is, but your body is adjusting to the new you. It thinks you are starving and holds onto everything. Keep trying to get the Water and Protein in. You may stall for a week or two but you will see changes in your body measurements. Stay with the plan- the loss will start up again.

Don't freak out it happens to all of us. You would hit the dreaded week 3 stall. It will pass your body is just re balancing some things right now. Just keep doing what you're supposed to do and it will come off. Sick to the plan.

Yea, it's the infamous 3week stall. Happens to many of us. Just stay with the plan. Try my fitness pal where you chart your food intake stay accountable. Relax, and get your Water and Protein in. Try or continue your exercise routine whatever you been cleared to do by you physician.

Good luck

Ditto to what other people already said. Just keep up with the Protein and Water as best as you can, your weight loss will pick up when you're body is ready. Don't get frustrated, it will happen.

relax, you have your new stomach for the rest of your life, so you are in this for the rest of your life. Please don't 'torture yourself', that just lets your mind play games... Water, hormones, body changes, all make for short term strangeness, but in the end, evey month you will be lighter and smaller...

I'm so glad to read all these encouraging posts!! I have been fighting the same 4 lbs for 4 weeks & am soooo frustrated. 5-weeks out -- on soft foods. track everything that I eat on MFP. I have driven myself just about crazy trying to figure out what I am doing wrong. Averaging 700-800 cal/day. 60-64 oz of H2O & 60-70 g of Protein.

Reading y'all's words helped me to see that this too shall pass!!! ;)

I'll be 1 month post op on the 17th...I had a 19 day stall that started with my cycle on week 2. I was sad, mad, frustrated...you name it! But at last the scale is moving again! :)

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
