I love your name - my daughter and I have been to disneyland 50 times (she is 13 now). Is there anything in the liquid diet that is more satisfying? I'm sorry your miserable, but your doc will have space to work in your abdominal area and you will have a better recovery. Do you have a sleeve sister?

I love Disney although I haven't been quite that many times. We did go this past March though. I have tried several different brands and flavors of Protein Shakes. My favorite is Bariatric Advantage banana. The shakes are getting very old though so it is hard to force myself to drink 3 a day. Luckily 3 days after surgery I will be able to eat sugar free pudding and no sugar added Greek yogurt. I have never tried Greek yogurt so hopefully it is good. Your thread was actually the first time I posted. I have been reading for months now.

I also have bought some of the sugar free puddings, Jello and I am looking for the sugar free cool whip. My target has sugar free syrups (caramel, hazelnut etc) that give the shake a different taste. I saw one person post that having chipped ice helps with the need to chew something.

Same here. The first 2 days were pretty bad. Today has been much better. I'm not sure how to get in all the liquids. I just keep sipping.

I have several liquids going - v-8, Protein Drink, mint tea, bottle of Water - I just keep sipping and do the best I can. If I take more than 2 sips at a time I have pain in my sleeve (feels like chest pain) sort of. Our new stomachs are still swollen and hopefully we can drink more at a time as the swelling goes down. The staples are made of titanium and we will form scar tissue over them. They will last longer than us. I have titanium implants in a few teeth and they have never bothered me and I am very sensitive even to 14K gold.

Is this pressure pain and having to chew your food 50x go away? Or will we be able to eat less without all this discomfort?? When did anyone feel the difference.

My md's plan is for sleeved patients to introduce regular food (no chunks or too thick) after 6 weeks. Your body should let you know even then, if you are ready or not.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
