I canceled my appointment for an endoscopy and possible dilation today. Over the last week, I've started being able to eat moist meats without throwing it all back up. I can get down 8-16 ounces of Water in 15 minutes or less and if/when I gulp it down more quickly without thinking, it hurts, but it stays down.

I've had quiche, homemade BBQ (lean pulled pork from the crock pot), a bit of hamburger, shredded chicken, and a Protein Bar and it all stayed down. I've gone from vomiting 2-4 times a day to only once in a week.

I do think I was eating too fast or taking too big of bites. Using those ridiculous little baby utensils that other suggested work for me as does walking around a bit after each bite to slow myself down. An added benefit? I've been getting my 10k steps in and I can burp like a champ.

I think I'm good. I'm excited to start moving into different foods and I hope to never see anything else mayo based again!

I AM SO HAPPY!

Thank you for all the well wishes, notes of support and encouraging words. Y'all rock and I appreciate it.

That's wonderful! I hope I can say all the same things in a few weeks! Right now, eating/sipping anything is the opposite of fun...but I haven't vomited yet. *fingers crossed*

I was going to reach out to you and inquire on how you were doing with this...recalled your post where your NUT (or Dr...can't recall now) wanted you to come in because they thought you should be further along in the amount of food and liquid you were able to get in. Glad to hear things are headed in the right direction.

I should be, but I am definitely on the upswing. I wouldn't mind if the weight was coming off a little faster, though.

I hear that...was right where I was supposed to be at 6 weeks, but feel like I'll miss the 3 mo "benchmark" my Dr. outlined (am 8 weeks today) by 5-10 pounds...am upping my activity to try and help...started boot camp this week and have the ridiculously sore quads to prove it (am jealous of men that get to pee standing up!)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
