Recommended Posts

Havent got a date yet...but getting close. Getting blood work done next week & the other tests..took me 4 months to lose 10lbs....also had to quit smoking...did that 7 weeks ago. Now im working on quitting diet coke...this is hard..

It is very hard, but you can do it!

I just make it into the August cut off, I'm being sleeved August 28th :)

I'm scheduled for 8/28 also, with Dr. Valenzuela in Tijuana. Who is your surgeon?

So far I have my laptop' date=' sundress, flip flops, chap stick and an extension cord... I heard a heating pad would be good too... I'm sure I'll add more to my list.

Sent from my ADR6330VW using VST[/quote']

Oh a heating pad that's a good one!!

Here's a list someone put together: http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/10081-the-official-what-you-will-need-for-your-gastric-sleeve-surgery-thread/ Right at the top of the first post there is a word document with a list.

(I'm thinking: chapstick, book, cell phone/charger, small pillow, a deck of cards, ear plugs, pad of paper, pencil/pens, maxi dress, case for glasses) I plan on wearing a pair of sandals that slip on....can wear them to/from the hospital and during my stay while walking around.

I don't know why but all week at work, I seem to get super tired. The pre-op diet isn't much fun right now. 5 more days till it's sleeve time. I did buy some realtree camo crocs to rock at the hospital. Oh yeah I'm that guy.

I'm in the Bronx. What prompted your revision? I responded to your PM.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
