Jess,

I'm expecting you're taller than me because everyone is...but my 22's are too big now.

I'm 5'2''.

Let me know if you're interested. I'll find a way to get them to you.

OHJuli

Yeah sure I would take them but two pairs would be fine. Let me ask you a question. Since your at 211 what size are you currently in? I am trying to figure out what size I will be in. I am so excited...I know the jeans I have run a little big for a 22, it will probably be another solid month of losing and hitting the gym before all 22's fit so good, but that is okay, I am ready to work for it... Good luck Juli! YOur doing awesome!!!!:clap2:

Well, I'm in 20's, but if I were to buy some new dress pants, and I will I'd be buying 18's.

I think 18's will do until I get to about 185....It's so hard to say. My body is so vastly differently shaped than it was when I was a teen...

PM me so we can hook up.

Feast on the compliments not the goodies!

HI Forestcats,

Sorry I have not responded to this post. I am new at this and I didn't know how to fine my orginal post. I am from Akron, OH and having the surgery done by Dr. Dan on May 1. I am very nervous and excited at the same time. I am now on day 3 of my Optifast diet and have lost 4lbs so far. A little nervous about the weekend because that is when I tend to eat more.

Hi! 61 year one grammy. 5 days post-op, feeling good. Soreness is about 2.5 out 10. I am retired 8 years ago and now work for my local church. I am in the chemical dependency field as a OCPS II (Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist II).

Question: What should I expect after the first 'fill'? Any pain or discomfort?

Hello, I have been reading a lot of posts, and it is time to introduce myself. I can now see I really might be a part of all this and get a band too. I am a 62 year old Grandma with 10, going on 11, grandchildren. I am going to Mid Ohio Surgial for the Lap Band. I started this process in October 2007 (seminar). I have done my head thingy and I my head is intact. ( I hope so anyway as my appointment lasted all of 5 minutes ). What a farce that was. Went to my nutritional counciling next with Michelle. Then I saw a Cardilogist, who found a shadow on my nuclear stress test he ordered...then on to a cardiac cath where 100% blockage was found. Good news though! I had done a natural bypass on myself! In the midst of my my cardio go round I had my intial consult with Dr. Choban. I think I made the right choice in picking her. She was very helpful to me as I had a 3 year gap in my weight lost history. We couldn't get it resolved at that appointment but I felt thankful that I had chosen a Dr. who would go the extra mile. I finally was able to locate my history with my previous Doctor. Charlene said she thought they would need a consecutive history from the last five years. Mine has a gap of 3 years but shows my weight for those years to be obese. I spoke to her last week and she said she would summit my info to the insurance (UHC) this week.

I am so glad I have found this forum. I know I am a a stranger to all of you but I feel like I know all of you very well.

Welcome Call Me Joy! We have a few 'grannies' on this Mt. Carmel thread and everyone is doing great so it looks like those in our 50s and 60s are still kicking it with lots of years left to live and enjoy after we lose weight with our band. Good luck! Keep us posted when you get a surgery date. Hope you can drop in Polaris sometime for the local Columbus bandsters and bandster-in progress friends meeting. See the thread under Ohio as well as the Mt. Carmel specific thread.

Thanks for the invite Special K. I should have added a lot more to that obese word. I just can't seem to get it out of my mouth. You are right K....I believe the 60's are the new 40's...so the fifties must be the new 30's.

Hi,

My name is Kelley, and I live in SW Ohio. Was banded on 18 April by Dr. Bruce and have had no real problems since the surgery. I've lost about 25 lbs since the 7th of April and have high expecatations for myself. Married, two children, and I work full-time. Active in church, PTO, and like to play golf. Been reading the posts here for several months, but this is my first day to really post anything. Glad to be a part of the gang trying to improve ourselves. Thanks!

P.S. I had a first PB experience today -- is it possible that my band is finally restricted, or did I just blow it on my food choice - have not had this happen before....

So far my first 2 fills have been easy. Both done at MCW with fluro but now that they did the 2nd one and found my port easy to feel through the skin, they said I can have my future fills in the doctors office. That should help with some logistics. I had a little bruising with each one but nothing I worried about at all. You should be getting close to fill #1 at 6 weeks out from surgery. Good luck!

P.S. I got my fills done at 1pm on my lunch hour and went right back to work if that tells you how simple things were.

Hello, I am Barbara from Spokane Washington. I am in the process of selecting a Dr. for my lap band surgery. I have scheduled for june the 24th with Dr. Kuri in Tijuana Mexico. I am scared to death now that I have made the date. I will be going alone, short notice to entice a friend to go with me. I just made the appointment today and if my work approves the time off I will be flying to SanDiego on the 23rd. Be picked up there and taken to the hospital.

Does anyone have any regrets that has had the surgery?

I have about 75 pounds to loose and am both excited and scared.

I am an xray tech and move around large patients and equipment, I am told I will be ready to work the 1st of July. That is just 7 days, what do you all think. Would that be pushing it. I am very healthy and was back to work after my gall bladder was removed in one week.

I am rambling, nervous I guess. I would appreciate any response, answers ect that anyone would like to offer.

Thank you and HI ALL

Barb:crying:

Hi Barbara,

My doc wanted me off work for two weeks -- this included golf. I went back to work in exactly two weeks and have primarily a desk job -- no issues. However, I started back to golf that same day, and while I was able to do it - boy was I tired. Otherwise it was all great. No regrets!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
