Congratulations on your great start!!

Any time you advance your diet, it is scary. Take small spoonfuls and rest between, give your body time to react to the new items. You may find things that just don't agree, but don't give it up, just try it a little further down the road and see if anything is different.

YOu may feel & hear grumbling from your sleeve when you introduce new items but in my experience, that is normal. Every time I tried something new, it was like WHOA!! what's that -- not in a bad way, but I did have a reaction. Thankfully I had no issues with anything really, but I kept it mild and took it slow.

I was only able to get in a few ounces of soft foods, that has increased to about 4 oz. which is what I expected (I'm 6 months out)

Has it only been the last two days you have had trouble drinking? What , if anything has changed?

Best of luck to you!!

Yes, I am still afraid to eat things, gotta say eggs are not MY best friend unless they are hard boiled and mashed with a fork...

I'm afraid of a few things, glucerna made me dump... "that was so awful" I'm just so careful about what goes in my mouth.

I also have trouble getting liquids in with the restriction of no drinking 30 min before or after a meal... Makes it a challenge..

So I think you are very normal

Best wishes to you!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
