Hi all, First I'd like to THANK ALL of you who responded. Went for my 2 week check up today. Down 8 lbs. Hurray!! All went well. Dr. said we have 2 wait 6 weeks for the first fill. I will be looking forward to that, Personally I am hungry!! How is everyone else doing with the wait in between the surgery and the 1st fill. My Dr said its because my stomach is healing and the swelling is going down making the band looser. Hope all are doing great. This is a wonderful site. I am greatful it's here for us all to read. Sue

Sue, don't be discouraged if you gain a few lbs prior to your fill. I was up 6 lbs when I moved from mushy to solid. You will lose it after your first fill. Congrats on your success to date. Keep up the good work.

Hi The New Me,So sorry to hear of your misfortune with the surgery. My surgeon is very experienced and does 6-8 a week at the Hospital I went to, which was 5 mins from home.I had my surgery done on the same day as yours, with no complications or problems. It's great that you share your news and experience, again sorry it was such a bad experience for you. I sure hope you get to feeling better real soon and can be excited again about your new life ahead on 2007. I suffer greatly from anxiety associated with Dr's, Hospitals and surgery, so having the surgery was a major decision for me. When I woke up alive I felt greatful. I feel like I've been given a second chance at life and I'm going to embrace it fully. All the best to you, keep us posted on your sucess CHEERS

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
