Ok here comes the bully! Cheating on a diet???

Oh my yes we've all done that!

BUT the after surgery "eating" plan is there for a reason it's not a typical diet. It is in place to give your stomach time to heal. Lets not forget that someone just went in the and cut and burned that sucker length wise' date=' and then stapled it back together!!!

Your stomach is still swollen and numb. And chances are you won't "feel" much in there right now.

Like I said this is not cheating on a diet this is a dangerous thing to do. If you want to cheat wait until you are in the clear, trust me there will be plenty of time to cheat yourself then![/quote']

I fourth fifth and sixth that!! I paid $10, 000 to get sleeved. I sure ain't wastin my money...and I WILL be skinny!!! Mind over matter

Today was my son's 5th birthday. He wanted brownies and Indian food for lunch. I got through the day, but I did taste the brownies and had several spoonfuls of the chocolate frosting. I also am pretty sure I ate more than 1/2 cup of paneer with sauce -- but it went down and I didn't get sick.

Tonight my stomach is growling -- that hasn't happened since before surgery. I'm actually feeling hungry, which has not been the case sinceI got the sleeve on June 3rd. I'm really feeling like a failure right now, and am very worried I'm not going to be able to make lasting changes in my behavior towards food. It doesn't help that I haven't list any weight for a week now (today was the only day I have been off my eating plan; if anything, I have a very hard time getting in my 1/4 cup of low carb food 6 times a day).

I am taking this time (early stages) to show food who is boss! I sit and eat every night with my hubby for supper. I cook him whatever he wants and eat my yogurt or whichever I pick within my doctors orders. Don't hide from food! I think if you don't do this now you will end up eating the things that got you to this point.

I agree..since my surgery life for everyone else has continued. I eat meals with my family, I sip my broth, shake, etc. If I want to be successful at this I have to adapt not the world adapt to me..so stay focus and remember you''re not alone.

I have to say something on here about the (cheaters). You are only cheating yourselves. First off while you are on liquids it is the time you will lose the most pounds right after the surgery. Please take advantage of this time. Second when you start eating mushies it most likely will be bad carbs that you will be consuming( mashed potatos, cream Soups and so on) abd that is going to stop the ketosis state that you were in and thats when the 3 week stall happens. Im not a dr or nurse or anything. I just put 2 and 2 together and it makes alot of sence.

That REALLY does make sense!!! Thanks for pointing that out. That is exactly what the Mushie stage contains!

let me preface this with the fact that i am presleeve, but i think if you are thinking about cheating you should go and read some posts on the complications board. i am terrified of eating anything too early based on those stories. They have strictures and leaks and bloodclots (oh my) and the last thing i want to do is make a surgery that should have me out of work for 1-2 weeks turn into a surgery that makes me jobless, aint nobody got time for that. Im sure many of us have failed at diets in the past but its two weeks, you can do anything for two weeks.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
