My dr only had me on 1 week of liquid. My 2nd week I could have cream Soup, yogurt, pudding, milk. I cheated on my 2nd week and had a scrambled egg...it gave me alot of pain :( I cheated yesterday and had a slice of toast and had zero problems. Today I ate a slice of cheese and had no problem. All of this is fat free/sugar free of course:)

I'm at 3 weeks and have been cheating like a mofo and its been giving me all kinds of problems... I throw up whatever solids I eat... It's been bad. Now when I try soft foods... I still get pukey. :( it's my own fault

I keep hearing of this but haven't faced nausea or puking except the day of surgery.

Remember everyone I know we are all dying to taste some real food but please do your best to follow your doctors instructions. I keep telling myself I am stronger than the food that I have consumed all these years that helped me blossom to 303 pds. Mind over matter..We are stronger than the food we put into our mouths. Take a walk, read a book, watch a movie, drink a few sips of your favorite Protein Shake (we can never get enough of those good ole Protein drinks) or just take a nap. Be strong

Ok here comes the bully! Cheating on a diet???

Oh my yes we've all done that!

BUT the after surgery "eating" plan is there for a reason it's not a typical diet. It is in place to give your stomach time to heal. Lets not forget that someone just went in the and cut and burned that sucker length wise, and then stapled it back together!!!

Your stomach is still swollen and numb. And chances are you won't "feel" much in there right now.

Like I said this is not cheating on a diet this is a dangerous thing to do. If you want to cheat wait until you are in the clear, trust me there will be plenty of time to cheat yourself then!

Couldn't agree more! I'm not playing Russian Roulette with my health or my life. It's not that long until most foods are back on the table - cheat or not.

It takes a lot of discipline not to cheat which most of us don't have that's why we had to get the sleeve. Cheating is understandable but you have to remember why you had this surgery.

If you cheat you are only cheating yourself. You have to gain control over your cravings. It's not easy but u can do it.

My mom always tell me that this food will be here forever. mc Donald's isn't about to go out of business and one u reach ur goal then have some. Good luck and hang in there.

Your doctor has a food plan for a specific reason.

I've posted this before, but my plan called for starting on soft food the first day I was home (and I only stayed at the hospital one night). The day after surgery, in the hospital, I started with Clear Liquids in the morning (jello and broth) and full liquids (tomato Soup, yogurt) in the afternoon and then I went home. It was a horrible 40 minute ride home because I had really bad heartburn from the Tomato Soup and the Prevacid hadn't kicked in yet. Personally, I was scared to death to try soft foods the next day after reading how everyone else was on liquids for a few weeks - but it all worked out okay. Granted Protein shakes were still my main source of Protein, or Protein powder mixed into pudding.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
