I am overweight, my boyfriend is not article

The fact that this is even a topic of an article kind of irritates me. People love people for different reasons and you know if it was reversed i.e. a large man dating a thin woman, it wouldn't even be worth an article.

Thoughts?

It was a rather personal confession by the author, almost as if she had to explain or defend their relationship. I am glad that she found someone that makes her happy. I am with a fit man who is supportive and loves me like I am, but I dont need to blog about it. It was a nice read, but to make it on the front page of Yahoo news is a bit ridiculous.

But yes, this would not be an article if it was the other way around. If it were, it would be to degrade the man and call the woman stupid.

I was thinking "It MUST be a slow news day".

Yes it was a slow news day, however, it was this woman's personal story. My mom was fat all her life, yet she was only alone 3 yrs out of her adult life. The day she died her boyfriend was with her.

I am certainly sensitive to this woman and her story. It is a story that many of us live with every day. The link I read from yahoo made the article sound like it was shocking that a man of average weight would be with a woman that was overweight. Hardly... Of course to the media, women are to be judged almost entirely by their weight.

I don't know why people assume that people are always attracted to people who have a similar appearance to themselves.. My exhusband was very muscular and a marathon runner (OMG and a full-on Mediterranean HOTTIE).. we met and married when I was around 315 pounds. My current boyfriend is 145 pounds. I've never dated a fat man. What's the big deal. I also tend go for olive skinned or "brown" men and I'm WHITE as a ghost... Been fat all my life and never had trouble finding relationships where there is a mutual attraction... though I'm a bit concerned about physical attraction when it comes to my future with my current boyfriend.. he is happy I'm losing weight for my health, but he's very worried about me going under 200 pounds as he thinks that's too "skinny"..... Meh, maybe some nice perky breast implants would appease him :-P

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
