Welcome hocker and dtrmnd07, I just added you both to the list...except now I see that I misspelled dtrmnd07 LOL.. I'll fix it

I'm so excited for everyone that has a date.... I am getting REALLY antsy because I KNOW my doctor has my approval letter and it is just a matter of them finding the time to schedule me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have only a slim chanced of making February, and at this rate I may NOT even make March!!!! FRUSTRATING, but I know it will happen.

Thanks for all the updates wanna_be_ thin! Glad your doing well.

Hello, I just got home from the hospital today. I don't have any pain or gas. I hope this is not a bad sign. I only took a vary small amount of pain meds last night in the hospital. I walked and walked. The nurses thought I might put a hole in the carpet. I am looking forward to a couple days of work and then back to the grind. I have been drinking Water, friut juice, and a chocolate shake. That was the best.

I got my first fill Saturday. I only got 1cc though. Is this normal? I don't really feel any different????? I did try to eat but it all kept coming back up. I was sliming. Does this mean I was restricted or just eating big bites. My doctor told me to stay on fluids for one week. But I just can't...it won't keep me full so I've been on mushies again.

Lots of Luv- Alice

Banded 12/20/06

Fill 02/03/07-1cc

I think I was told that you have to go back on fluids on fill days. Does anyone else have any info on that?

...Just one question. I'm sure it's been posted elsewhere, but can anyone give any suggestions on a low-cal Protein Shake that tastes somewhat okay. ...

Wal-Mart sells Body Fortress brand "100% premium whey Protein powder" (their claim, not mine) in vanilla and chocolate flavors. Haven't tried the chocolate yet but the vanilla ain't half bad and can be flavored with Luzianne no calorie tea flavoring or some of the diet syrups on the market.

Cost about $12.00 per 30 serving container.

It's high protein but no other appreciable nutrients/vitamins/minerals/etc seem to be added. Here's the breakdown as listed on the container:

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Serving Size: 1 Scoop (30g)

Servings Per Container: about 30

AMOUNT PER SERVING

Calories: 110 (presumably without milk)

Total Fat: 1.5g

Saturated Fat: 1g

Trans Fat: 0g

Cholesterol: 35mg

Sodium: 55mg

Potassium: 170 mg

Total Carbohydrate: 1g

Dietary Fiber: 0g

Sugars: 1g

Protein: 23g

Vitamin A: 0%

Vitamin C: 0%

Calcium: 15%

Iron: 0%

Ingredients: Protein Blend (Whey Protein Concentrate, Whey Protein Isolate), Natural and Artificial Flavors, Soy Lecithin, Acesulfame K, Sucralose.

Contains milk and soy ingredients.

Manufactured by Healthwatchers (DE), Inc., Bohemia, NY.

Hey Everyone!

I had my surgery last Thursday and it has taken me a while to bounce back.I am told that when the Doctors went in and they found a hiatus hernia which they needed to repair. I guess I should be happy that I got a freebie! Anyways, am feeling much better now and I thought that I would stay off of here until I had something positive to report!

Now it is day 6 and I am feeling pretty good. Exhasted - but pain killer free. My tips for new bandsters would be to stock up on Gatorade Propel (with the sippy-cup lid) to help keep you hydrated, and buy a pill crusher at the drug store. A friend made me buy one against my better judgement (I felt silly buying it since two spoons work just fine) but it saved me during this! It easily mashed up pain killers, gravol, etc. finely enough to preactically dissolve in a bit of Water and go down easily. Plus it mashes up the jumbo multivitamins... Just my two cents!

I hope everyone is doing well and I wish all of you upcoming bandsters the best of luck!

Hey, everybody! I'm home today after being banded yesterday. All I can say is OUCH! I'm in quite a bit of pain today. It wasn't so bad yesterday, and I was able to control it with the adult strength liquid Tylenol. Today, however, I've switched to the liquid Lortab that they prescribed for me. I also have some anti-nausea suppositories (OMG!) in case it makes me sick.

The surgical center put me up in a hotel next door so I'd be close in case I had any trouble, and I got very little sleep. The bed was too hard, and I just couldn't get comfortable. I'm hoping tonight I'll get better rest. I'm going to try sleeping in my recliner.

I know I'm not the only one in the world who had the same experience I'm having, but it sure does feel lonely at the moment. DH is being very supportive, though, he is a Godsend.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
