Hello all of my fellow Feb bandsters!... I'm four days out and still pretty sore around my port area. I haven't had pain med since my second day out so it's not that bad. I think I have gas/bloatness more today than any. The surgery date comes and it's goes and If you have searched this out enough you know your doing the right thing even though I'm always second guessing myself. I have lost 16 lbs as of this morning and don't have much of an appetite. Good Luck to all of you! See you on the other side. :clap2:

Glad to hear you are doing well for the most part wanna be thin. Like you said I do second guess myself to make sure that I am doing the right thing. I still haven't told my parents. Plan on telling them today i hope. I don't plan on telling anyone--i'm really a private person. I know that i will get to a point that i will share-but not today.

I don't really have much to hide, but sometimes I wish I wouldn't have told everyone. Really the only people I told was family and friends, but we live in a small town and it spread fast. Most people seem happy for me and want to know my experience. I'm sure there are some out there watching ever move just waiting on me to mess up..... but o'well..... That's life. I came back to work on Monday after having the surgery on Friday so I couldn't see myself hiding much there. I'm sure everyone could tell I was walking a little stiffer. Good luck to you and it's your choice.

Hi all. I am new to all this and just wanted to say hello to all the February bandsters. I too will be having my surgery this month on the 15th. The support here is great and I will continue receiving and giving as my journey progresses.

Just one question. I'm sure it's been posted elsewhere, but can anyone give any suggestions on a low-cal Protein Shake that tastes somewhat okay. I haven't bought any yet, for fear they will be disgusting.

Good luck to everyone out there who is beginning their new life this month.

Hello! Good luck to all of the Feb. bandsters. I have been on this website daily for several months now. I finally decided to take control of my life and I have scheduled surgery with Dr. Ortiz on Feb.19th. Thank you to all of the people who share their stories so openly, it really gave me the courage to DO something. Good luck to everyone!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
