That happens to us all. Don't get discouraged. I'm sure the weight will start melting off soon.

I've been doing the same ever since my surgery. Maybe try not weighing yourself as much? I get on the scale everyday which I probably shouldn't but can't help. Not sure how often you weigh yourself but maybe once a week would be great so you can eliminate feeling discouraged. Good luck, keep up the incredible work!!!

Water retention or waste making its way through your intestines...is very common, and, as others have said, is one of the reasons they encourage us only to weigh weekly

I get on the scales every morning. After I reach my goal I will get on the scales every single day! In the past I could gain weight so stinking fast so I feel I need to weigh every day so if I'm up a pound I can deal with it. I feel it's easier to be up a pound or two and get that back off then weight a week and be up 5 pounds. I've had that happen before I had surgery. One week it might be 5 extra pound then the next week a couple more. So yeah I'm gonna weigh every day so maybe I can keep on top of it.

I am dealing with the same thing right now. 2 weeks post op. I am trying not to get frustrated, I mean I am following all the rules it is impossible to not lose weight right! I feel thinner and eventually my crapo scale will agree with me and until then I will keep on keeping on!

It WILL come off promise! It's impossible for it not to just takes a while for your body to figure out what the heck is going on. I posted and responded to so many posts about the same thing in the beginning and now at 7 weeks I'm consistently losing. Not every day but every week. It will happen!

Thanks everyone for this post! I just got on the scale & for the second morning in a row I was up a little bit & I was starting to freak out. I'm 3 weeks out and I was racking my brain trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. I'm so glad to hear that it is normal.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
