anyone forget to feed others?

Recommended Posts

Since I'm not hungry sometimes i forget that others need to eat. This afternoon my husband kept taking about going out to eat and i couldn't understand why he already wanted to go to eat. It was 12:00!

I have a husband that doesn't cook and 3 kids that have hollow legs. Although the snacking has gone down tremendously they never let me forget LOL But, I completely understand what you are saying. This post made me smile :D

I get some sort of high from cooking for others now! Maybe smelling the food helps. Lol!

I just got in to trouble for this today! My husband is not happy right now because I'm not putting enough thought into dinners for them....

I was the primary cook in the house. I still cook once in a while, but not nearly as much as I used to.. My wife said the other night "I'm hungry" I replied by telling her how the knobs on the stove magically make fire.. She wasn't impressed with that answer..

Did you tell him to read your mind right after he said that?

I wish I could... Like he is seriously mad right now

0_o It all started because he wanted tri tip and potatoes for dinner tonight (the skinny bastard)

And it's f**king 90 degrees!!! So then he's like you know you don't work you could at least treat this ( the house kids and him) like a full time job...

I'm so mad and we never actually fight that I'm beside myself right now!!

He's getting his meat and potatoes and like a good "housewife" I just noticed 4 overripe bananas and I'm making banana bread too.

Ok I hear the 1950's calling me gotta go..

Ps I'm REALLY MAD! And I think hurt... But mostly MAD.

Ugh, my husband tried pulling this once. I said "oh? You think I'm not doing anything?" So I went on strike. It took two nights of him making Cereal for dinner (he can't cook at ALL, like he doesn't even know how to make an egg) and washing his own clothes and he apologized. Maybe it was extreme, but he pissed me off!

JessicaAnn - your post made me laugh out loud. When I was growing up a neighbor's husband said something similar to her and she went on strike too. I remember her sitting out on her front lawn in a lawn chair at dinner time, reading a magazine & drinking coffee. Her husband and 4 kids were left to fend for themselves. She did this for about 4 nights and after that she was always treated like a queen.

Sometimes I just send my husband out to get dinner - salad with chicken for me and he can get whatever. Tonite I think he's getting a pizza!!

You should tell him to cook himself. Prior to going out on disability, my wife who owns a bakery and I split up all of the household chores. Before I helped my wife start her business, she was unemployed for a short time and we still broke up the household chores. I shop and do laundry ( I'm better at it than she, she says it smells better and is softer when i do it.)and she cooks (she is a better cook) and cleans.

I would be angry to at my spouse. It is way too hot to cook today. But what an NSV to not think that much about dinner.< /p>

You are a good husband lol. I was the one who spoiled my husband when we were dating and moved in together, so now he expects it. I don't think he's cleaned more then 5 times in the last 5 years we've been together lol

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
