Hi everyone, I just want to know what was your experience in the hospital and how much time is the healing process... I have MY surgery on Wednesday and I'm really scared, yet anxious =)

Good luck and speedy recovery! I'm preop so can't help with surgery experience. I'm not due to go in until end of July.

I was sleeved on Tuesday and I was prepared for anything and everything. I honestly have to say "It´s a walk in the park". I had a little discomfort day one but apart from having a big, gasi stomach I feel great. The nurses said it must be due to my attitude and I´m 53, not a spring chicken. I wish you the best of luck and whatever discomfort you may feel, it´s temporary.

I was also sleeved on Tuesday. The first two days were not fun, but not nearly as bad as I had anticipated either. I feel great today, getting all my liquids in (which on day one & two I thought was impossible!!), and I will be going back to work on Tuesday! Good luck, you will do great!!!

So a week for healing before going back to work... and are you guys able to walk normally? What about stairs?... I'm so nervous because I also have to move out to another place all this before the surgery

Walking is fine, actually feels good.to be up walking. I live on the second floor, so I have been going up & down the stairs alot, which is no big deal. I am driving & have already been out to eat with friends (i had broth at the restaurant) and went to a bbq yesterday (and sipped on my Protein shake). Of course, everyone is different, but I am sure you will be fine!

One thing that I think is important to bring up is relaxation. If you are tense and anxtious your stomach won´t heal as fast. Everyone knows that the first organ to react to stress is your stomach. If you go back to work too soon you might risk your healing by stressing.

Everything has been good with liquids. Today is day 8 of 10. I haven't lost much weight on it though so idk what's up with that. I'll keep you posted on how it goes. I'm just ready for it to be here already!!

I was sleeved on Wednesday, coming out of anesthesia was horrific, a lil discomfort the first day afterwards I was fine. My only problem now is getting this Protein in. I'm still on full liquids and everything sf taste horrible. I manage today to get some diet an snapple half/half to drink and the broth from regular Soup. I gonna listen to my gut it will let me know.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
