Tomato soup

Recommended Posts

I had the sleeve May 7th. I am so over the chicken Soup. So does anyone know if Tomato Soup would do?

I have not been sleeved yet but I have been reading a lot of these posts and I don't think that would come under "clear" liquids...maybe the next phase when you can add cream Soups etc....some people cannot tolerate the acidity either but hopefully you will get a more experienced answer soon. :-)

Not sure about Tomato Soup. In week two, I'm allowed to do blended lentil, black bean and vegetable Soups. In week three, my surgeon green lights the following (as tolerated):

- eggs

- Natural nut butters with no sugar or oil added (peanut, almond, walnut, cashew)

- Soft baked fish (cod, tilapia, whitefish)

- Mashed potatoes (no skin)

- Low-fat soft cheeses (cottage, string or sliced)

- Canned veggies or fresh cooked to mush (no added salt)

- Canned fruit in their own juice

- banana

My doctor allows full liquids after discharge so I plan on trying it. If I can't tolerate it, I'll try again later.

Thx a lot. I'm so hungry and really desperate to try something new and with flavor. It's funny because I don't even like tomatoes.. Thanks a lot for the advice. Good luck with your surg

I had the broth from a Tomato based veggie Soup and it gave me acid reflux. But I have always had this problem, still don't know if I would chance it. Trying straining beef broth from a beef based soup for something different. My first two weeks are up tomorrow. I can't believe how fast it went by.

I was sleeved on Tuesday and I had tomatosoup day 2 in the clinic. I had a small bowl at lunch which I couldn´t finnish even though it tasted good. I tried it again at dinner and I finnished it. Maybe we have different rules for drinking. I live in Stockholm, Sweden but I know the surgeons here use the exact same method when performing a gastric sleeve.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
