I would say definitely not. At 11 days you should be on full liquids or maybe mushy food depending on your doctor.

Either way, we're not supposed to eat raw fruit or veggies until at least a month out I'd say. And I've also heard that watermelon is a troublesome one for a lot of people. I'm a month out and all I've tried is soft stuff like bananas and avocados.

What stage does your dr have you on? If its an approved food on your particular stage then, yes. If not.. Then, no

According to my doc, IF I were 2 weeks post-op, I could try it. I start soft foods on the 29th and that's "anything you can cut with a fork." Of course, I'm still in the full liquid stage, but if I wanted to puree the watermelon, I could do that, too.

But as others have said, you need to go by YOUR doctor's guidelines.

I was just wondering I'll see my dr. On Thursday. He will switch my diet to soft foods. I guess I'll just ask him. Thanks everybody :)

I had watermelon juice from Whole Foods market when I was at 2 weeks. It was good but there were plenty of white seeds in it.

I'd wait until you were into pureed foods (watermelon in the blender) or soft foods (ripe watermelon you can bite off the rind).

It depends on your doctor. I was not allowed to eat fruit of any kind until I was 8 weeks out. That was also the same for vegetables. If it is not approved by your surgeon, then the answer is no.

At just over one week, I was on full liquids. Something to keep in mind, although it is a fruit, sugar is sugar and I was told, once I WAS allowed to have fruit, to think of it as a treat. Only two or three times a week. Also, something about watermelon, the little white seeds, you want to make absolutely sure you are healed, one of those in your staple line would not be a good thing!! Good luck!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
