Tears in my eyes from laughing after that one. Wait, do you guys want me to post my avatar as a pic of me PBing? Should I laugh or worry?

One of my friends gave me a plastic moose for Christmas that pooped jelly Beans. When she saw it, she said it reminded her of me. Hmmm, how do I digest that?

Thanks guys!

Fortunately, I've only pbed a few times. It was usually when I was standing up and scarfing something down in the middle of the night. I think it was trying to tell me, "DON"T DO THAT, DUMMY!"

Uh, Marie... didn't you read the directions on the band when you opened the package?

Rule Number 1: No scarfing, ever.

Rule Number 2. No eating in the middle of the night.

Need I go on? xo

I'm doing much better about the middle of the night scarfing! Some old habits just die hard! But the pbing might just break me of that habit for good!

Lisa, my band directions didn't say anything specifically about scarfing. That must just be with the "Mexican" bands. You got that little piece of knowledge as opposed to aftercare.

I got my band out of box of Cracker Jack, and it specifically said NO SCARFING.

That was a joke, because my band and I are good friends. I didn't get any instructions that said "no scarfing" but I'm pretty much thinking that's the same as "chew chew chew and eat very slow."

Ok Its official...

I just had my first PB on a damn triscuit cracker. I don't get it. I have been eating trisquits and cheese every day this week for lunch and not one problem, today I ate a trisquit without chess and that did it. It felt like it was stuck and wanted to go down it was almost like having contractions in my throat. It would hurt for 5 -10 seconds then go away 30 seconds later it would hurt for 5-10 seconds , this went on for about 10 minutes, then the slime and the watering of the mouth. Once the piece came up my mouth started watering uncontrollably and my heart was pounding. It was actually quite scary. I'm still here recuperating from all that trauma. My band had been so fickle lately..two days ago I could of eaten a horse (but didn't) and since then I have been having so much tightness in my chest and where my band is placed with some strange discomfort not reflux or heartburn just tightness.( i know it's called restriction right?) So now I'm going to go on liquids for 2 days per my doctors instructions on a PB episode. I do not want this to happen again and I know if you PB you need to rest your tummy and esphogus right? When you go on liquids is it just Clear Liquids or anything that can go through a straw? Any input wouldbe appreciated. I feel so silly asking questions I really know the answers too but need some input since this is my first official PB Thanks :)

I think this is a congratulation.?? Don't let it happen again. Ya right.

I like what Shelly Wrote...If I could find it to quote...something like=I don't eat certain things cause I'm afraid of a BP.

My first major BP was garlic noodles with lots of parmesan. Coughed up a perfect golf ball. I don't do Pasta or bread much. Yes, it hurts.

Michelle, now we're both official. But now that we've experienced it, no need to to that again, right?

But did I tell you I named one of my Cockateils Triscuit? Daisy-Sunshine, Carlo, Triscuit, and one really mean one still waiting for the perfect name.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
