Or maybe she is a spoiledbrat like her profile name says.

I still don't see why you have to be rude as it is not helping anything ....

It doesnt matter how spoiled you are (for the record I dont know the OP so I wont call her that) a dr wont operate on you unless you meet certain criteria, so your point doesn't seem valid.

The OP called herself ' SpoiledBratt' so I dont think I am being rude by calling her that.

AussieLady has been nothing but rude here...

I was talking to Aussielady ...Even if the OP called herself one it is not as if Aussie was addressing her by merely stating her username she was actually calling her out as one. The general tone of all Aussie posts on this thread make her posts seem like personal attacks...Which IMO is totally unnecessary .

Wow! A lot of back and forth here! I'd like to know the background story too. Just out of curiosity.

From reading her previous posts she was a revision patient. Lost some wgt with band for a year and I believe had complications which lead to revision. Then lost the remainder with her sleeve.....but all that is just from reading her previous post. Second hand info. The poor OP has not even chimed back in.....guess all back and forth ran her off. I do apologize if you (the OP) didn't feel supported. That should b our main goal here.....

Do you study Bariatrics? Because you are in for quite the surprise when you find out the research they are doing to perform this on lower BMI's.

Aussie is going through a very rough time.. While it definitely doe not excuse her behavior.. It might explain her mindset at the moment.

Aussielady,

I'm very concerned about you and so are many others here. Please consider getting the help that is available to you.

Can you imagine what the benefit would be to healthcare costs alone if they did this surgery earlier? Astronomical....I believe in the future there will be a move to do this sooner than later. But more than that. The benefit to diabetics who lose their limbs because their diabetes is so out of control or lose their sight. Or the patient with hypertension or cardiac disease. What if this surgery done sooner prevents that? Isn't that worth a chance to have this surgery. And whether ppl realize it or not. Low BMI patients can be just as sick as higher BMI patients. We all should of course do all the research and know all the possible complications....then make our own choice.....what is best for us....only we can know that....and shouldn't fear being called names.

I usually try not to get involved in the negative threads, typically I just thinks its a waste of time.

That said comments about OP have really disturbed me. We have all likely been the victim of being judged at one point or another and we know how it feels. This person turns to this page for support and advice and you judge her because she only had to lose 33 pounds? Shame on you for judging others and shame on you for not using this site for the intended purpose.

I do not have a problem with people wanting this and other WLS procedures without co-morbidities. I have worked in Bariatrics for years, this is the where it is headed. A responsible surgeon can and will decide who this is best for. I find it fascinating and exciting! Thanks for the positive response SunMoonStar

If that's the case, I'd do the same thing! Lord knows I'd gain the weight back no doubt! Congrats OP!!!!

33 lbs.?? You had surgery and all you needed to lose was 33 lbs.?? I can just about lose that going to toilet. You obviously didn't qualify for insurance so you must really be a spoilt brat! Maybe you should have spent your money on a gym membership.

That was kinda mean. No judgements here please.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
