What are requirements to get approved (United Healthcare)

Hello all!

At 33, I am 5 feet and weigh about 230 lbs (weight has went from 190-230 over the past few years). I have high blood pressure for about 6 years and take 3 medications for it. I have always struggled with height and nothing has really worked. I can lose 10 lbs but then just get stuck and will gain 20.

Based on your opinions and experience, does it sound like I would be able to get approved??

Whether or not your insurance will cover your surgery will depend on the type of coverage you have with United Health Care. Give them a call I'm sure they will quickly put your mind at ease. Today is seems like most insurance companies are following the same rules.

Here is a link to one of their booklets about Bariatric Surgery. The key is finding out what type of coverage yo have.
