I'm going on a long flight to Japan next week. I just got back from Chicago to CA yesterday and my butt hurt so bad after that 5 hr flight!! I can't imagine how I'm gonna feel once I get to Japan!! What have you all done on long periods of sitting? My butt just has no padding anymore. I shift my weight constantly to avoid the pain anymore than it has to be. Maybe a small pillow and getting up more? Please give me some ideas of what you guys have tried? Thank you. I'll ask my trainer, too...maybe booty blasters as he calls them might help (not with Japan trip) relieve this problem.

I'd get up and walk around the cabin as much as possible as well as a pillow.... Wish I could go in your suitcase. LOL :)

for me, a pillow is awkward to sit on, but that may be due to the rotund nature of my toosh. lol. I flew to South Africa, and used a seat cushion...like the ones you get for sitting on at ball games. A friend of mine has fallen in love with that "Forever Comfy" seat cushion.

Definitely get up and walk around when you can. This will also help with blood circulation if you are prone to swelling.

Have a great time in Japan!!

I think I've come up with another idea, too...what about wearing padded bike shorts? They look comfy. But do they cover your tailbone?

They do, but they really arent as comfy as the look...and make you walk a little funny. Plus, its cheaper to get a pillow. I used to cycle and those shorts are expensive!

I guess it's gonna be a small pillow. And maybe J Lo butt implants in the future, lol.

Hopefully an aisle seat will enable me to get up and move around a little, too. I do have history of blood clots in both legs so moving around a little is a must and wearing my compression socks. Just can't wait to get there!! I'll be in Okinawa 1 month, praying for no typhoons!!

They have a round pillow that honestly looks like it's made for people with hemroids, and my great granny had one, and it's SUPER comfy!!! She used to be a big lady and towards the end she lost a lot of weight and would sit on that thing all the time!! Its so cool it flexes so you can use it in any which way. I know it's cheesy but here's the link. http://www.asseenontv.com/detail.php?p=293219&SESSID=44e19e2a14637bcebd9c81ffd30397e2 Hope that helps.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
