Burning/stretching/tearing sensation in tummy incision

Whenever I lay down or sometimes in different sitting positions I get an intense stretching burning sensation. My doc says that's where they had to make an interior incision in the abdominal muscle and that's what I'm feeling. He said it will go away in 3-4 weeks. I'm 10 days post op. has anyone else experienced this?
