Ive been doing good, but my Bad habit of grazing is creeping up on me. It has not gotten out of control but I need to stop ! So frustrating! also carbs are becoming difficult to avoid, it's everywhere! I'm super annoyed. I've lost just about 90 lbs since my surgery feb 4th so I'm super proud, but now I'm hitting my stall at 205 lbs.. ahhhh! feeling defeated today :( im getting parnoid that I could be stretching my stomach and gaining weight... I don't want to worry about everyday or check the scale everyday, but I can't help it. I saw I gain 1 lb today and I was furious! Just wanting to if you guys worry about this. What do you do to stay away from carbs and grazing, and some clear info about stretching would be nice.

The amount of stretching should be pretty minimal - the stretchy part of the stomach, the fundus, is what is removed. The rest could stretch a little, but not a serious amount. However, over a period of several weeks the swelling in your stomach goes down after surgery, so it's not really any surprise if you find you can eat more. Just continue to measure what you eat and don't think you have to eat until you feel full - at that point you're probably actually over-full :)

I too love to graze and I'm very new to all of this but carbs are already so tempting!! What my nutritionist told me is that carbs break down in the mouth not in the stomach like Protein and veggies. Think of how a cracker dissolves in your mouth. That's why they are easier to eat so you can eat more of them and not stretch your stomach but gain plenty of weight. I try to drink Water every time I feel like grazing. . I have a hard time knowing the difference between hunger and thirst it seems..

Hi babe,

No sweet pics today? :(

Grazing? Ah yes the sleevers downfall! yes I'm in a daily fight with that also, somedays I win somedays I lose miserably... My weight loss has all but stopped and I know a big part of is caused by that bad habit. I've been talking to anyone who will listen about it because it seems to help a bit when I'm fitting the urge.. But in the end it's all about us taking back the control!

Which is easier said than done I know. I will be about to put something in my mouth and telling myself NO but I do it anyway! Surprise, surprise,

It's how I got here right? We have not blown it to epic proportions yet, so I think we at least have a fighting chance to turn it around.

I know this is like coming from one drug addict to another :P but have you thought about what's going on in your mind, your day? At those moments when you are wanting to eat when not "hungry"?

There's my pretty boy! :D

Yes your right it is like a drug. It's food addiction!

Very real. I too am a closet eater. When I "sneak" a snack it's just that I sneak! and want to eat it alone..It's not comforting if I eat it in front of someone... I know, seriously fucked up, but true!

There are a lot of us like this, so I've been talking a lot about it here. We need to take it out in the open and support each other.

So true. I'm only 3 weeks out and already struggling. I have been on liquid diet for 5 weeks now and I'm going crazy. It its an addiction because its not like I'm hungry. What have you done that has helped?

I take it day by day! I am working on control right now... I mean if you think about that concept, it's all in our hands we have complete control and need to draw from that. What is causing me to eat? When I want to sneak something why? And what can I do to change that mindset and move on from the loop playing in my head.

Easier said than some somedays, but when I can take a step back and look at it from the outside its pretty powerful. My word for the day is control :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
