Today I am one week post op! I feel ok..I know my limits. my weight has went from 289 to 250. (this is pre and post). I started shakes and Multivitamins today hoping that will help with my dizziness. Still in a little bit of pain but not much. 100 pounds to go anyone have any good exercise tips?

First of all, congrats on your surgery and welcome to the losers bench!! At one week out, i'd just stick to walking for now, until you've healed some more. then, once it's allowed, swimming is one of my favorite exercises. But make sure you do strength training as well as Cardio. Gotta build those muscles up!

I'm 8 weeks out and plan to do Zumba. I be been to the gym but I must to be more consistent about going. I want to do weight training targeting the arms and thighs. But follow your physicians order, usually no cores for weeks. But try chair exercise maybe. Rest and increase fluids again talk to physician about the dizziness.

Congrats

Good luck

Congrats! That is an awesome weight loss!. I am one week out as well, I've gone from 230 to 214. I've been a bit worn out and the Dr told me to walk on the treadmill or outside for 15 minutes. I haven't tried it yet but he said it would actually help me be less tired.

Great weight loss!! Yay! I was only cleared for walking for the first 2 months and I did a lot of it! Now I like to do the elliptical and I also have an Xbox with Zumba! So fun. If I had access to a close pool i would do that as well.

Congrats on the first week out. I am just over a week out and am down to 225 from 237. I did not hav to do anything preop so this all post op weight loss. Yesterday was my first day where I felt like myself again. Just tummy pain at two of my incision sites. When I cough or sneeze they still burn like crazy!

This morning I got up and felt completely washed out. I re-read my discharge instructions and they don't want me on a Multivitamin until I am on puréed food, which will start soon. I took a chewable today, just cause I felt so bad. I am consuming fluids and about 50 gms of Protein consistently so I was surprised I woke up today feeling bad. I was out walking yesterday so maybe I over did it. Oh we'll.....this is all trial and error!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
